Mizzou football was doing much during that timeframe, either. Have to have SOME success on the field/court to attract the fans you should.

KU fan or no, potentially missing out on a 4 star recruit 25 miles away from campus is embarrassing, maybe more so on missing on the glut of talent in St. Louis over the years. Hopefully they can lure him in.

His Godfather is a Boonville legend. Help let them to a state championship back in the late 90s. He wasn't a Mizzou fan and lots of people in the area thought he should have got recruited by Larry Smith and company. He ended up D2.

He also was an 8th grader in the Melissa Click period of diversity disfunction at Mizzou.
Mizzou was a no-go for my daughter for that reason despite both my wife & I graduating from there. |

He just got back from USC and they blew the kid away, North Carolina was a big contender along with Florida and Georgia. He only visited Missouri for his friends and coaches, they never had a chance at the kid. Sucks but it would take a big miracle to get him there

We all knew those kinds of kids growing up-- the ones who would root against all the local teams just to be a troll.

DJ Wesolak is not a rural white Missourian, so it’s highly, highly unlikely he is or ever was put off by that stuff. It’s been 6 years. All of the the university leadership has turned over at least once, if not twice in some cases. To appease said rural white Missourians, Mizzou’s then-AD ran off one of the strongest points of the program (Pat Ivey) and mandated that another critical key to success (the total person program) be ended. How has that worked out?
