So as a rough guess, assume that he loses 5% to an agent and then 40% to taxes. That would make his take home about 5 million.
Let's assume that he's living the good life but not extremely extravagant. So maybe he's spending $250,000 a year over the past 8 years. As a really rough guess, that means that he's got about $3 million in the bank, without taking the time to calculate investment returns. Losing $100,000 in jewelry is going to hurt. I wonder if it was insured. It's his money, of course, but I sure don't understand why somebody wants to wear $100,000 in jewelry. If I was making his money, I would probably own a $300 watch and nothing else. Other than my plot to seize the crown in England, I just have no interest in that sort of thing.
