Considering only a few people know the whole story regarding his first of three permabans, the results aren't surprising. Most all of us know his history. We may not know all the details or whatever, but anyone can feel to share them. I would say he shouldn't have been banned int he first place, and he has always gotten under certain mod's skin where other people get into the same kinds of personal attacks and the like but never get banned.

Anyway, the bottom line is that he was let back and didn't do anything at all to get banned again.

it's not warranted. It was incredibly personal and vile. Not everything on this site is public, and decisions are not always up for public debate. I understand the sentiment but if people here think they can do a better job they have 2 options. Apply for mod status, or start their own site.

I really mean no disrespect with that statement, it's just fact.

It was because hootie threw salt in his wounds. It was pretty grotesque (CC filled me in on the details), but it wasn't perma-ban worthy by any stretch.

That's not even true. He wasn't even banned for stepping over the line. Those posts got scrubbed IMMEDIATELY. I was on them just as fast as he posted them.

He got banned because I told him that it was inappropriate and that he was not to ever post about the stuff CC shared with him again or he would be permabanned. Then he went and did it anyway - with a clear understanding he would be permabanned. Yes, let's all shed some tears for Hootie. He never does anything wrong.

He did, based on the short leash we gave him... we were mostly on the fence about letting him back to begin with, and it was a failed experiment. In hindsight, if you don't think someone can come back with the same set of rules as everyone else, they shouldn't be allowed back.... our bad.
