But if we really told him he can talk to other teams...I do not think he will be back. I think that is a clear indication he does not fit in the budget, but we are not going to get nothing for your rights and lets try to part on good terms type of stance. |

We may lose Jones and Sneed. Veach is not in the habit lately of making players the highest paid at their positions. Sneed will want that fir sure and Jones wanted over 30. That won't change.

Do you think Smeed is worth $20 million? Bc the tag is $19.8. That's the price you pay for tagging a player. Agent thinks that's the starting point for the contract

Either a long term deal for Sneed or the Chiefs trade him… perfect scenario.

Frankly I think Snead is as good as gone.
A team like the Bears, have already been investing in their defense, already have massive draft capital and can make a ton more if they want it. Very easy for them to draft Williams and an OT with their first rounders, flip Fields for something, and then trade the Chiefs their 2nd for Snead. They can pay him now while Williams is on his rookie deal |

I would tag and trade Sneed if you can get a high 2nd. If you sign him long term, not only are you taking the massive cap hit, you are giving up that 2nd round pick.

Both have 3 years of shelf-life left before they begin a rapid decline (on average at their respective positions). That's reality. So if I'm picking the one I'd rather have for those 3 years, it's Chris Jones. |
