Yes traditionally rookie WRs aren't very productive under Reid with the exception of Jackson/Maclin. Moore on paper wasn't even a center piece of the offense. To write him off year 1 is ridiculous

I think the expectation was that he'd learn the offense and gain some experience, but I agree with the sentiment that they probably expected a bit more production from him.

4 veterans who almost all missed time with injury. Hardman missed half the year, Toney missed a few games, Juju missed some time here or there. In the AFCCG we were down almost the entire depth chart at WR. Those are the moments when a 2nd round draft pick should probably step up.
Well, zero excuses next year. Few veterans ahead of him, expectation should be 800 yards and 5 TDs minimum. |

I think we're being a little harsh on Skyy, NFL transition is generally difficult, doubly so for Andy Reid's offense. It's not like Skyy was just asked to do go routes and was productive that way. That isn't his game, he needs to ACTUALLY learn the offense, plays, schemes, watching film, and everything that goes in to being a good WR in this offense. How many receivers period come in and dominate their rookie yearand weren't deep threat burners? Let's at least give him until the end of next season before we start writing him off as a loss.

I'm so ****ing glad we picked up Toney. That gives us a legit playmaker in the room and he loves it here .

Just as I said to pump the brakes on the pre-season "Skyy Moore is going to be a #1 as a rookie!" talk, I'm saying pump the brakes on the "Skyy Moore is a bust!" talk. There's absolutely no reason to assume we've seen anywhere near what the kid can do. I fully expect that we do NOT do anything big in FA at WR, and that Moore is penciled in to have a bigger role in '23. I'm damned near certain of it. |

“Why didn’t Moore have better production!?”
Ignores the fact that he was basically 5th option on this offense and he came from a small school. Players take time to adjust to the speed of the NFL. |

Ok, so let's say JuJu walks and we have to bring in an aging, oft-injured vet on a 1yr prove-it deal... Do you prefer Michael Thomas or OBJ?

Thomas is finished. Beckham is a walking injury report and wants to be paid like he isn't.

I'd take Thomas for half of what JJSS was paid.

But I just have a bit of a bias against bigger WRs so I may not be being fair there. As a long-term developmental guy who could potentially replace MVS by 2024, you could do worse than use a 4th rounder on him.

Duncan's probably right, but I do wonder just how low he might go. Gotta think he'd see this as as good a springboard as anywhere to a final decent deal somewhere. 1yr flier at a SUPER discount and I might be tempted. Highly doubt OBJ or JJSS will be at a price we like.
