Don't forget Andy Dalton. Remember when the Pats and Chargers were our stiffest competition. Yeah, these two teams may be picking from this group or a Tyrod Taylor. Fock ya both.

Why can't Cam rediscover himself in his 30s like Alex?
I can tell you I don't want him in the AFC West.

It depends on when we're talking about. Right now it's highly questionable that Alex can even play.
But assuming that we're talking about all three players in their respective 'primes,' I'd go with either Cam or Alex in that order. Winston is out because he's always had a turnover issue, not just last year. Plus Winston isn't a good team player or leader. So that's a hard pass. Cam is more athletic and has a better arm than Alex, while Alex tended to be a better decision-maker overall than Cam. But Cam at his best when he played with Norv Turner as his OC and mostly only had 1 or 2 reads, was the best QB of the three, under the parameters given above. Plus, Cam would pull the trigger down field, whereas Alex was always hesitant throwing down the sidelines more than 15 yards. That alone could win you a few playoff games. But I've never been a Cam Newton fan, so taking him under any circumstances would be a tough pill to swallow for me as a virtual GM. |

I was an Alex supporter but would have loved some prime Cam in KC.

Rivera is letting Alex come to camp as a courtesy to an old pro, but he is DUN... it was a catastrophic injury that will steal his biggest asset

Cam Newton if healthy and its not even close.
Winston is basically another FitzPatrick. Too inconsistent to ever win anything. Alex is Alex.

Winston has all the skills, and can make all the throws.
He would just need a Reid-like lobotomy, and he could be an all-pro for several years. Honestly, of those three, he's the last guy I want going to the chargers. Do I think the chargers coaching staff are that good to get more turnover-free play from him? Probably not. Cam is done. And he's been 'done' for several years now (and who would want a leader on your team that doesnt go after a fumble in the biggest game of his career?) And yes, Alex is Alex (and for the love of god, retire while you can still breathe oxygen)

Most QB's depend on the system and scheme. But looking at these options I am surprised Andy Dalton is not listed here. And he would fit the Patriots really well if he comes cheap.
