Which defensive players are performing adequately?
Poll to follow.
Relative to their assigned role, which defensive players are performing at or above a level that is to be reasonably expected? (In other words, don't penalize a guy for being a backup. Consider just his performance on the field when he's playing.) Note: I'm not including the following players who are not getting regular defensive snaps or are new to the team. Ben Niemann Charvarius Ward Dorian O'Daniel Eric Berry Josh Shaw Justin Hamilton Leon McQuay Nate Orchard Tremon Smith Frank Zombo Last edited by Rain Man; 10-14-2018 at 11:51 PM.. |

Bailey, Jones, Scandrick and Ford I can live with.
The rest can suck a fat dick. |

So what's the problem in the run game? Is it the NT, DE, LB?
All of the above? Seems like most DL can at least make contact with the RB before the los. With us it doesn't even seem like our line makes any contact unless it's at least 5 yards ahead of the los. |

Lucas had horrible gap control on the first series and let the RB get outside. |

So I blame a combination of the scheme and poor ILB play. Even in three-man fronts it seems like Xavier Williams is getting pushed around. I feel like Nnadi is outplaying Xavier.

The best player in the secondary was picked up off the scrap heap just before the season.
Sigh. |

Chris Jones has this problem if not trying for half the game.

It's right there at the bottom.
Or was this a rhetorical question?

I actually didn't vote for Chris Jones. It seems like I should, but he's AWOL on 99 percent of plays. The challenge, though, is that by design he's being double or triple teamed on every play because of that freaking two-man front.
All in all, I think the best players on our defense right now are: 1. Allen Bailey. 2. Orlando Scandrick 3. Dee Ford

I voted none of them, because we can't do even the most basic of defensive functions.. like tackling someone.
