Le'Veon Bell of Old

I am incredibly stoked about Bell coming to K.C. for a few reasons and I do think we are getting 90% or more of the old Bell that was a Steeler and here is why and one reason I don't think was discussed on the radio etc.

1) He went to the Jets to get paid plain and simple. As soon as he signed he liked a few posts about the coach and how bad of a hire it was. Things started off rocky before he even got there and the team was a dumpster fire. So he walks in with very little ( if any) respect for the head coach and knowing he is going to a disaster of a team.

2) What does not get discussed enough is this. Many have said he is washed up and "did you see his yards from scrimmage in New York" yada yada yada… Well look, again something not discussed, but if you are in a place the head coach does not like you, the team is bad, I think it is a VERY real thing, like most people in life at your job etc that you sort of "dog it" you don't give it your all, you sort of half ass it. Not enough to be incredibly obvious to people but enough that you know you will land in a different spot soon. You make enough social media posts and act the way he does, he ends up getting exactly what he wanted. Why try at the level he did in Pittsburg for what, maybe one or two more wins a season? I think there is a VERY high probability that he did what most athletes do when they are in a situation like Bell, no respect for the coach, bad team equals half ass effort.

3) Now he can go anywhere, or at least had enough choices to pick where "HE WANTS TO GO" vs. a money thing. He knows how good we are, he knows the players, he knows we have stars everywhere and well, we have Patty. So him choosing us vs his previous situation is very different.

4) We will get the old Bell within a few weeks and have something incredibly special and will win another Super Bowl. He wants to prove everyone wrong that he still has it and I think he has almost all of it left.

5) He's 28 which isn't that old for a running back but between sitting out a year and the limited use he had with New York we are getting a running back at the very least at a 26/27 year old back usage. Plus with the Steelers he didn't take tons of direct hits like so many do, he was very elusive in how he was tackled, you didn't see a lot of hard hits.

6) Unless he gets injured, which could happen, I think he will end up being our feature back ( not that CEH isn't very good) because getting 90% or more of the best back in football is just nuts.

I can be wrong but to many things point to him being absolutely Elite and nobody wants to say he was dogging it in New York but I think he was because he's human and it what most people would do.

Thoughts?

Hopefully he's coming to KC with a chip on his shoulder and wants to clear his name. He has to understand he's a piece of the puzzle not the entire picture.

I saw him shove an entire blooming onion in his pants at an Outback Steakhouse and then just walk out. Sorry, but anybody that disrespects an Australian chain restaurant like that I just can't trust.

Count me out.

Does Bell being on the field help our offensive line? That's what I'm wondering. We have some big issues in the interior.

We'll see. If any coach can figure out how to use a pair of RB1s to best advantage to hide OL issues, it's gotta be Andy Reid.

Bell is going to realize very quickly he ain't got the Pitt o-line here to do that "be patient waiting for the hole to open" thing type of running. But he should be lethal in the passing game for sure.

Bell went to Kansas city to win a super bowl and because he wants a prove it season to earn one last big contract. Both work out well for us.

The Chiefs chose bell not because he happened to be available (see Kelvin Benjamin) but because Reid and veach have wanted him for years. They have something in mind for him in this offense and it's exciting as hell to figure out what that is.

I don't think there's anything wrong with Bell. His lack of production here would be due to learning the system, sharing time, and our O line being complete ass right now.

Even schwartz hasn't been playing up the standard he has the last two years. I'd really love to see us invest in the line this draft with a G and C to protect our all world QB. We've avoided the OL issue for way too long...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).
