Is it time to move on from Toub?

The Chiefs special teams have been one of the best in the NFL over the past few years, but this year they have been as bad as I can remember in a while. Is it time to move on from Dave Toub or is this on the players? Both? I know there really isn't a lot that can be done right now and I'm not sure firing Toub in the middle of the season is the right decision either. But I think there needs to be a change made in the off season.

If this is already a part of another thread, or already has its own thread, mods can delete. I didn't see it anywhere but also didn't peruse everything thread.

No I don't think Toub is suddenly a bad coach but they need to figure out what the heck is going on.

Oh it’s time to move on from a coach alright. Just not sure the ST coach is the one who needs moving on from.

They have been absolute ASS this year and yesterday was icing on the cake. I don't think firing Toub middle of the season is it, but maybe in the off season.

They deserve to be criticized a lot, they have been sloppy, undisciplined and are changing outcomes of games or effecting game strategy in a NEG way. If they are not helping to win games by big plays fine, but making dumb ass mistakes costing games yea, very bad. They should at minimum just be average and don't turn the ball over, have FGs blocked because you don't change cadences and or let the free rusher run right past you. They should not be penalized on every freaking return and should nto be fielding punts or fair catching them on the 3 on the reg.

They haven't shown any signs of getting better and in fact have gotten worse each week. Toub surely isn't making a good case for his job. If he doesn't turn it around NOW fire his ass at the the end of the year. Oh and he won't because Andy...

You think Andy really wants to bring in someone new to the poker party on Friday nights. Toub is safe.

What i would do is

1) Hardman needs to concentrate on WR duties & replace Watkins as starter.

2) Put Pringle back for KR PR

3) Profit

So here's something I've been wondering. Do they coach the special teams players to hold or block in the back on EVERY return? Because....they do. Are they just trying to get away with shit or are the players just that undisciplined?

I don't think he is a bad coach either. But you see really good coaches lose their players after so many years, it makes you wonder if its the time to move on after the season. I don't know if you see it with special teams all that much... but they've been awful this season.

Every punt/kick off I expect a flag of some sort with this unit. It has been incredibly frustrating to watch.

How Toub gets a pass while Andy gets all the blame is beyond me. There are 3 teams and our special teams is our worst.

Fire his ass and scare these guys.

Chiefs were 9th in special teams DVOA going into yesterday's game. You're pointing fingers at the wrong unit.

Our special teams coverage is outstanding.

Our return game is generally very good.

We have some hiccups that must be fixed. But don't let that erase that we are otherwise very good on special teams and could be much much worse.

Are there real duties that come with being assistant head coach? If there are, maybe he needs to stop splitting his focus.
