The secondary as a whole, the rookies specifically.

I have to go with the rookie CB, J Watson. No way anyone expected this from a 7th round pick.
On the other end, I have been quite disappointed with Skyy. I know this is his first year and he came from a small school but the trade for Toney makes me wonder if he is not really what the team expected when they drafted him. I really hope this is simply a case of it taking a year or two for a rookie WR to fully get the playbook down. |

Khalen Saunders.
Kid has been huge for us. The rookie DBs get a lot of pub but this staff just gets good play out of defensive backs. They've struggled mightily to identify and develop DLs. Suddenly Saunders feels like a guy we HAVE to extend and a genuine 3-5 year running mate alongside Jones.

Khalen Saunders, I was ready for the Chiefs to cut bait with the guy but he’s managed to put everything together.

In my forested little world, I see four candidates:
1. Noah Gray is getting a lot of snaps and he's proving that he's a viable receiving option as well as blocker. 2. Darius Harris is getting sporadic snaps, but he looks good when he's in the game. 3. Khalen Saunders somehow combines "massive" and "fast". He's fassive. 4. Jaylen Watson, of course. I think Watson has to be the big winner, but Saunders and Gray are not far behind.

Saunders was close to getting cut and has played as well as any 'normal' defensive tackle in the AFC. No, he's not been Simmons or Jones, but he's been the best interior DL we've had next to Jones in his time here, IMO.

I wanna see Saunders in a more full time role before i start crowning him.
Yeah, he looked good in the 4th quarter against the Titans after Nnadi took most of the snaps the first 3 quarters.

Justin Watson
He was basically rich version of Gehrig Deiter in Tampa Bay. Lot of ST’s and not a lot as a WR. Didn’t expect much from him outside of ST’s, but he has been quite a nice complimentary weapon for Patrick. Would love to keep him as a 4th or 5th WR

Khalen Saunders is paying tribute to Terez Paylor and his line that, "Contract year is undefeated."
Been motivated and focused all year like he knows he wants to play in the NFL to feed his family.
