It would really depend on the player if the Chiefs did something like that. I'm looking specifically at two Juniors in Ohio State WR K.J. Hill and Iowa TE Noah Fant. IF they declare and one is there, it'd be hard to pass. Hill is kind of a prototype for Reid's offense because he's got great hands, he's quick and fast, has good size and operates on all those underneath routes that Reid uses Watkins for so I would see him as a Watkins replacement for 2020. Fant would sure be a luxury stud TE opposite Kelce during his twilight years that would look good on those RPOs.

I'd rather see the Chief's most experienced interior OL, LDT, at center and the Chief's most athletic OL, McKenzie, at right guard. A powerful and athletic interior OL of Erving, LDT, and McKenzie would make the Air Reid Attack even more dangerous.

The Chiefs absolutely can't take OL in the draft this year. They can't. I've decreed it.
Our coaching is so damn good at OL, that I bet we let Mitch Morse walk and bring back Devey for pennies on the dollar at center. Wylie and Reiter provide us interior depth and we'll need to go get a swing tackle (assuming our swing tackle isn't just Jeff Allen or Cam Erving). Other than that, focus on defense, defense, defense. All three levels. A trade-up wouldn't surprise me if there's a stud they love, but I do hope they keep all four picks in the first three rounds so they can pimp up this defense as much as possible. |
