Unfortunately not. They limit older hardware to specific versions of iOS. And Apple doesn't make old app versions available for download. Did you ever transfer purchases from an iDevice to iTunes on one of your computers? That's the only way you'd be able to get a working netflix app on there.

So explain for a dumbass what you’re talking about with iTunes? Are you saying I should put Netflix on my phone and sync with iTunes then sync that with the iPad? |

If you ever had an old iPhone or iPad, and hooked that up to a computer running iTunes, logged in with your AppleID, and clicked the Transfer Purchases button, it likely would have saved an older compatible version of Netflix, which you could then use to install onto this old iPad. It's a longshot though, because most people never actually do that step.
FYI... the iPad Air is the oldest iPad that will run the most recent version of iOS. Don't buy anything older than that at this point.

I had an old ipod touch that still worked fine but quit getting updates and ran into this issue. Annoying cuz it still worked fine
If I were getting a tablet for a kid that young I think I'd get one of those amazon fire tablets. Some of those are real cheap |

Not to highjack the thread but I'm looking to use my iPad to write on and have it projected on my smart board in my classroom. I can do it but it projects in a small format, not filling the entire screen, through Apple TV. Would chrome fill the whole screen and if so what software would be best to use?
I like being able to walk around the room but the screen projects too small right now and the app I have isn't great. Any ideas or experience would help as I try to figure this out myself. |
