This place...

Like several of you, I've been here a long time. I've cried tears for those I've met and haven't met who have passed on from here. Now, watching one I've met (Nzoner) and one I haven't met (HayWire) go through their battles with cancer...it just makes me shed a tear again. I've gone through the loss of several family members due to one form of that wretched disease or another. It also makes me reflect.

For those I've met through bashes, tailgates, KC trips, etc... I hope you are doing well. Thank you for the outrageously fun times we've had.

This isn't a goodbye thread, and nothing is wrong with me. Life is actually going well. With people getting sick, and generally not knowing when we might unexpectedly leave this place, I just wanted to throw that out there.

Very well said luv! I've been lurking since I was stationed in Korea from 2000-2001. I have regrets since I've never met anyone from here or attended a CP bash in the past. We've lost some quality posters over the years! Please be safe everyone! I'm eligible for retirement next year and hope to attend some events soon after!

Quite the community we have built here. I am proud to be a member and hope to remain so for many years. But if the Lord has other plans, know that this place has enriched my life in many ways. So, thank you all!

Ended up meeting one of my best friends in the world here who two years later was a groomsman at my wedding (C3HIEF3S). Another (ChiTown) has kindly donated to my non-profit almost every year and has helped fund the education of students in Nepal and Kenya. I always have appreciated fine folks like Easy6 and Buehler who gave me life advice over the years about stuff like my health and career, which helped me through tough crossroads I had in my life.

Several others have read my book, and beyond that, helped me grow up from an angry 14 year old kid who received multiple well earned bannings from this place to the person I am today (for better or worse ).

I've been to a few bashes and had one last year. Job jumping prevented me giving one this year, even tho y'all made it so I almost broke even. If I can finish up well this month, MAYBE we can do it again? Because meeting and chatting with yous guys is an indescribable feeling.

The Zoner and Haywire threads break my heart. It makes me go outside and look at the autumn colors. That much beauty helps deal with the pain I feel for them.

Yep. This place is special.

Oh, those of you that HAVEN'T met me...I really DO NOT look like my avatar.

And I am making chili right now for a chili cookoff...that makes me think of our bash in the park.

I've been here since 2009. I have grown to love this place like an unhealthy crush on the hottest cheerleader.

While you can't like everyone, I have nothing but respect and affection for 99.9% of the people here.

I've met about 15 CP members in real life and have liked them all, even the one oddball who went crazy angry and got banned.

No amount of debating or arguing compares to the struggles we all face in real life.

I feel privileged to have recently met Nzoner and feel terrible for all the things he has dealt with recently. Same goes for Haywire.

We lost a lot of great ones over the years and I still think fondly of Lonewolf Ed and sad that he missed Mahomes and the Superbowl.

I didn't get a chance to meet anyone over at the Cards Stadium when many of you flew in for the opener and I feel bad I missed some of you. If we play in this year's Superbowl, I will find a way to meet many of you who come to town.

This is a fantastic community of individuals from all walks of life, various professions, living all over the globe and a very wide range of ages.

I wouldn't trade this place for all the tea in China.
