Kafka a finalist for Giants OC

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/...giants-oc-role

I know many of us have been worried about this. Fearing that if EB doesnt get another job we will lose Kafka. Well, it may be happening.

I have to believe if he was offered the Chiefs OC position he would stay.

Time for Andy to make EBs decision for him? I hope he does. I also root for EB to land a great job.

If Kafka is Mahomes’s guy, then you can’t let him get away. Keep the QB happy.

WBF without Bieniemy if that’s what it takes.

EB needs to go but Kafka is not the answer for OC. Reid needs to bring in someone from outside the organization that is not afraid to tell Reid he is being stupid.

KC needs fresh ideas on both sides of the ball and find a RB that is a more reliable playmaker as well as a WR or two so KC has more than TK and TH as weapons.

If Andy is the one person really calling the plays, whats the difference between who the OC is?

I think EBs contract is up, so it wouldnt be firing. They have been expecting EB to get a job for years now and I think promising Kafka he would be promoted.
At some point you have to make the move or lose him.

He needs someone to say "WTF Andy, they keep dropping 8 after the snap and you keep calling deep passing plays. Are you really this stubborn or just stupid?"

I've yet to see anything concrete about Bienemy's contract. I know it was up after the Super Bowl loss to Tampa Bay but I don't know if they did a one year deal or what.

Well, if he didn't listen during the AFCCG, chances are he'll never listen.

Problem is, playcalling is not like song credits on an album. They don't reveal after games who called which play. We can only speculate.

Chiefs QB coach/passing game coordinator Mike Kafka, 34: A fourth-round pick by Andy Reid's Eagles in 2010 who bounced around the NFL as a quarterback for parts of six seasons, Kafka possesses innate leadership traits and has earned a strong reputation as a QB tutor since reuniting with Reid in Kansas City as a quality control coach in 2017. He was promoted when the Bears hired then-Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy in 2018 (the same year Patrick Mahomes took over as QB1), and the plan has been for Kafka to move up again to OC when Eric Bieniemy gets his head-coaching shot after so many interviews in recent years. That still hasn't happened, and Kafka now is on the head-coaching radar himself. His Chiefs contract is also set to expire after the season, and he could end up elsewhere as a play-calling OC in 2022 if a head job doesn't materialize.

You really think EB stands up to Reid? I think Reid is much more likely to turn down a freshly baked chocolate cake than EB be anything more than a glorified secretary.
