Draft defense this year

I know everybody wants to draft a QB. Why?

We all claim that Carl Peterson has never really drafted and developed a quarterback over his tenure with the Chiefs. Thus, making their journey to the superbowl much more harder.

But this is a league where you never know where you can get a player? Lets admit, thats what makes it great. And as a fan, I love that. Just look these past couple of weeks we were all talking about drafting a QB, and all of a sudden a young man named Tyler Thigpen comes in, and performs really well.
Im going to give this coaching staff some credit, and I know people are bashing them severly. But lets just say Chan and co creative playcalling and gameplanning was to the favor and advantage of Thigpen. If they could do that all year, and let Thigpen go out there and play, who knows? Maybe he could be the guy. I've been seeing a lot of great things from him these past 3 games, and if he keeps performing well, it may change plans entering the draft?

But Im looking at this thing from a standpoint where where has this team been struggling all year. You have to look at it that way. Which position has been non-existent all year? Im going to say this team needs a passrusher. Really Really bad. 4 sacks all year? Come on! Thats unacceptable and a HUGE reason this team sucks. Some guys surpass that amount in a game. Im also ok with drafting a linebacker. This team needs some real STUD linebackers as well. Outside of Derrick Johnson there are no real legit starters. Demorrio Williams and Pat Thomas are role players at best.

*Im also going to say, fire Gunther and the rest of the defensive coaches. Bring in some fresh guys there. They're just awful at making adjustments during games. And awful at creating good matchups.

I have a feeling Orakpo is going to be our first round selection. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

If Stafford is there you ****ing draft him. And then you take another QB later just for good ****ing measure.

I think a lot of our defensive problems will be fixed once our coaches our gone. That and a couple of good DEs and LBs

I think we have more than one pick. So we can select offense and defensive players.

I think D, OL, and QB are big needs. If a top QB is sitting there we have to take them IMO

No shot at Stafford, I think we draft Orakpo, maybe Oher.

Does anybody know what kind of MLBs will be avilable in the second, and if they're worth a shit.

If need be you can get a RB as an UDFA. We have much more pressing needs.

Cushing and/or Spikes could slip to the late 1st or early 2nd, but I doubt it. More than likely Maualuga, Laurinaitis, Spikes and Cushing will all go in the 1st and possibly McGrath from SMU. Maybe Ellerbe from Georgia in the 2nd or 3rd.

You are really advocating we should have reached for Brian Brohm or Joe Flacco last year after Matt Ryan was gone?

Wow of all the "Win now" things I've read on this board this has to be the most stupid.

If a Franchise QB is there by all means draft him. If not get the next best thing in a pro bowl OT or a probowl DE. Never ever reach 10 spots for a position of need.
