The Early Years Tournament: Round 1, Heat 13.
Today's heat is either a beatdown of the Raiders or a beatdown of the Raiders. Your choice.
2022 - Week 18 - W 31-13 over LVR https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2301070rai.htm Chiefs 13-3 / Raiders 6-10 We were trying to overcome the Damar Hamlin rule in this game, but it was the Raiders so it wasn't overly dramatic. The game was over by halftime. We gave the ball to Ronald Jones a lot, protected Patrick, and let the defense do its work. Chris Jones put up 2.5 sacks, Michael Danna added 2.0 that were both strip sacks, and others added 1.5 sacks. Nick Bolton contributed 16 tackles, which is impressive. Our leading yards-from-scrimmage guy was Justin Watson, who had one touch for 67 yards. Sometimes I'm amazed at how easily this team can put up 31 points. 2020 - Week 11 - W 35-31 over LVR https://www.pro-football-reference.c...2011220rai.htm Chiefs 8-1 / Raiders 6-3 Were you worried that we might lose when the Raiders took the lead with 1:43? Patrick and Travis took this one to the edge before calmly scoring on a 22-yard pass with 28 seconds left in the game. It was a penalty-filled affair with 10 against the Chiefs and 8 against the other team. Our offensive line struggled, but Patrick nonetheless threw for 352 yards and 2 touchdowns and scrambled like Randall Cunningham with radioactive superpowers. This is low-key one of Patrick's best games of his career. Travis had 127 yards in receptions and also threw a 4 yard completion to Pringle, and Tyreek added 102 yards receiving (but a negative 2 rushing). The Chiefs couldn't get any sacks, but Big Play Sorensen came up with a game-ending interception on the defensive side. On a side note, the Raiders suited up both Henry Ruggs and Damon Arnette in this game - Raiders gonna Raider. Watch Charvarius Ward truck a murderer at 11:30 of the highlights. I went with the 2022 blowout. It's fun when everything is working.
The 2020 win was fun too. PATented MAHOMES come back in the final minutes. He is so clutch.

I probably should pick the blowouts more often because they're more fun during the game. I picked the close game, and in retrospect I enjoy it but it was less fun at the time. Maybe I need to re-think my voting critieria.

I went with the 2022 Week 18 blowout because I was there and because snow globe. How could you not mention the snow globe play?

This is a funny matchup.
A week 18 laugher against the Raiders or ripping their hearts out in a close game in their brand new stadium? |

In a close game, a lot of our stuff works, but the opposing team has answers. They thwart our plans. We hang in there. Find ways to score. There is 3 hours of nervous tension, until finally we prevail. Relief and Euphoria! (hmmm....that second scenario sounds a little sexual, except for the '3 hours' part)

Oh, I didn't see the Snow Globe play in the highlights. If that game moves on to Round 2 I'll add it to the description.

Yeah, weird that it wasn't in there. I guess we didn't score on that play though.

I feel like this is a default 2020 game vote for me. 2022 game was basically a walkover.
