50 years ago today

“65 Toss Power Trap” became the most famous words in franchise history.

Otis Taylor broke Earsoll Macbee’s shoulder and high stepped into the end zone to clinch it.

Hank Stram being “Mic’ed Up” became some of the greatest audio in NFL history.

The journey for 2 starts tomorrow.

Let’s go get it, lads.

We got close last year. Sure hope this year is our year. I'm 60 now. Don't have another 50 years to get this close again.
My dad also passed in 2011. He'd have been 73 this year. I'm 36 but I remember those 90s teams and man we thought KNEW it was going to be our year, every year. I wish he could be around for the Mahomes era

I was 3 months old. My dad has talked of that day in hushed and reverent tones, like speaking of a former military commander who led the country to victory over hated oppressors.

I’ve been in Arrowhead when Mike Fuller was QB and the stadium was empty. I’ve lived through Marty Ball and the kicker who shall not be named. I’ve watched us use re-tread QBs from SF and re-tread GMs from New England.

But now? We have our QB. We have our coach. We have our defense. This is our year. This is our time.

KC is back, bitches!

Yeah, I'm 61 and remember 1 and 4. Lost my dad in 83 so he never got to see the revival of the Chiefs in the 90s. My best memory of 1 was my dad sitting on the couch with a tv tray in front of him with a big bowl of popcorn and a Budweiser. Something not good for the Chiefs happened, there were a lot of cuss words and popcorn and beer were flying everywhere as the tv tray took the brunt of his temper.

Watched Super Bowl I in color because my dad loved Bonanza & had to watch it in color. Kinda funny to think of nowadays.

I remember watching Super Bowl I on the kitchen floor while the adults were all hanging out in the front room. My mom didn’t want us kids exposed to adult beverages & cuss words(like we couldn’t see or hear them anyway).

I am 49 years and 3 months old. The last Chiefs Superbowl was literally just before I was conceived. I have literally waited my entire life (including in the womb) for the Chiefs to win the Superbowl.

Need more details on this Mike Fuller qb you speak of. Is he the love child of Mike Livingston and Steve Fuller?

Ha ha! I was 6 or 7 and for years I had Mike Fuller in my mind. But you’re right. Shows how long I’ve been waiting.

I was in college at CMSU in 1979 hanging out at the Grainery when in walks Mike Bell & Steve Fuller. The girls went wild.
