Take care of yourself guys

In the last year I have had 6 friends die. 4 in their 50s, one in his late 40s and one in his early 60s. All appeared to be in great shape. Makes you think a little about your own mortality. Wish I had retired a couple years back when I had the chance. Seems so young to be kicking it. Still others have had major health issues and cannot enjoy any quality of life. What ever happened to the new 50 is the old 40?

Life expectancy in the United States has dropped again following last year's decline, which marked the first downturn in more than two decades.

On average, Americans can now expect to live 78.6 years, a statistically significant drop of 0.1 year, according to a report on 2016 data published Thursday by the National Center for Health Statistics. Women can now expect to live a full five years longer than men: 81.1 years vs. 76.1 years.

The last time the agency recorded a multiyear drop was in 1962 and 1963.

"I still don't think you can call it a trend, because you really need more than two data points to call something a trend," said Bob Anderson, chief of the mortality statistics branch at the National Center for Health Statistics, part of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. "But it's certainly concerning to see this two years in a row."

Anderson said he is particularly concerned about drug overdose deaths, most of which are opioid-related."We have data for almost half of 2017 at this point. It's still quite provisional, but it suggests that we're in for another increase" in drug-related deaths, he said. "If we're not careful, we could end up with declining life expectancy for three years in a row, which we haven't seen since the Spanish flu, 100 years ago."

The 10 leading causes of death remain unchanged and now account for 74.1% of all deaths in the United States, according to the report. Age-adjusted death rates decreased for seven of the top 10 leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory disease, stroke, diabetes, influenza and pneumonia, and kidney disease. The rates increased for unintentional injuries, Alzheimer's disease and suicide.

Unintentional injuries include accidental drug overdoses, which were the official cause of 63,600 deaths last year."It just keeps going up and up and appears to be accelerating," Anderson said. Opioids now kill more people than breast cancer. Opioids now kill more people than breast cancer
"In the past, those increases have been more than completely offset by declines in cardiovascular mortality," such as heart disease and stroke, he said. "What's happened in recent years, since about 2010 or so, is a substantial slowdown in the rate of decline for cardiovascular mortality. It seems to be leveling off to some extent, and as a result, the drug overdose deaths are more prominent in the overall picture of mortality."
A country's infant mortality rate (the number of births compared with the number of deaths of children under age 1) "is generally regarded as a good indicator of the overall health of a population," according to the report. In the United States, this rate "changed from 589.5 infant deaths per 100,000 live births in 2015 to 587.0 in 2016, but this change was not statistically significant."

The biggest takeaway from the report is that heart disease and cancer are still far and away the top killers of both men and women in the United States. The good news is that there are three things you can do to drastically reduce your risk of developing both: eat right, exercise and don't smoke.
It sounds like simple advice, but as anyone who has ever tried knows, it is easier said than done.
Overconsumption of sugar and foods that convert into sugar within the body. Sugar triggers insulin which is a fat storage hormone. Sugar is poison and its like a drug, that is why so many people really struggle too give it up. I am sure many here have suffered a sugar crash after consuming a food contained a high amount of sugar, still feeling hungry and wanting too eat more. So many people are suffering from conditions like candida overgrowth in the gut due to eating too much sugar. The parasites and candida feed off of sugar, its their number 1 favourite food. Once your gut health is compromised, then you are in big trouble because 80% of your immune system is based in the gut. There are trillions and trillions of bacteria that reside in the gut and when they become imbalanced, a whole host of problems can occur. That is why Monsanto is trying too compromise peoples gut health by spraying pesticides and glycoside. Once the gut lining is compromised, a condition called leaky gut will develop. A key too good health is a healthy gut. Also the majority of serotonin is produced within the gut. All of these things cause low immunity and that is when you are exposed. The gut is the foundation too good health.

My dad wasn't a farmer but he was a tree & shrub salesmen for a large company for years & did landscaping with it before when he was younger. Was also exposed to it all the time in his visits to greenhouses and working on his personal tree farm that he had.

Should probably figure out a way to sue those evil Monsanto ****ers.
Let me preface this by saying that nobody in this forum has more reason to hate Monsanto more than this ****ing guy. Dad was spending ****ing MOUNTAINS of money on Roundup before it came off patent, and let me tell you, it was ****ing expensive, and nothing changed to now, where it was cheap. Also bought a ****load of overpriced Dekalb seed. Also, every kernel of corn we plant has at least the RR gene, of which Monsanto gets royalties. So yeah, nobody here has gotten ****ed by Monsanto as much as this guy. /preface

Yeah, because anectdotal evidence is key. I've got some too. Dad started no-tilling in 1982, the year before I was born. He's put down a ****assload of glyphosate. And believe me, in the early days, PPE was.....optional.

And since I bought the sprayer and I handle most of the material these days, he's moved to spraying with his open station UTV. So yeah, he's had exposure.

That ****er is healthy as a horse. So OBVIOUSLY we should all be chugging glyphosate as a suppliment.

I SERIOUSLY doubt he was exposed to glyphosate as a shurb salesman or in greenhouses or else the shrubs and everything in the greenhouses would be dead as ****.

Look, agricultural chemicals aren't necessarily safe but they are far from the bane of society that freakshows try to paint it as. There are a bunch of chemicals under your kitchen sink which are far, far worse.

I bought a closed tender system for my applicator and use PPE anyway. I get it, but let's not go overboard here. If you eliminate all agricultural chemicals and fertilizer, we're going back to 1942 production, in which case millions of people starve.

Give it a rest.

Roundup is bad, but I’ve sprayed and taken a bath with gramoxone when I was in my 20’s, which is way more nasty shit than roundup. Same with that garlon 4 shit for vines. Luckily I haven’t actually sprayed that shit since the mid 90’s. When I was in ny I just observed and watched them mix and spray, while being paid ny prevailing wage.
Gromoxone (Paraquat) is mean, mean shit. Be the hell careful with that shit.

The Gromoxone Syngenta retails has a bunch of safeners and ipecac in it so it is better than the salt, which kills the **** out of dudes.

QUIT SMOKING.
I can vouch. I have fairly serious allergy induced asthma caused by a mold in wheat dust. When I was a kid I had a few serious attacks. It is goddamned mother****ing terrifying to work as hard as you can to breathe and just get further behind. ****ing scares the shit out of me.

I learned early on that we are far from invincible.
