Did the ball hit Edelman?

I thought - and still think very clearly - that it hit his bicep. So, do you think it hit him?

That’s quite true, I don’t think it touched him but if that had been our guy they’d have let it stand for sure

Oh I didn’t know that. That is so dumb. Some NFL rules are so gay. They deserve to have their ratings plummet because of such stupid rules.

Both James Winchester and Frank Zombo breezed past Julian Edelman after Gehrig Dieter was recovering or had recovered the ball. Edelman had not issued a fair catch signal, I don't think, so I believe he was eligible to be blocked and/or tackled, at the very least up to the point of recovery, as the officials thought the ball was live. I think some NFL players would have taken a shot on him. Making a play on a punt is dangerous business.

Edelman got away with a bluffed muff. I don't think the ball hit him, but that play looked strange to me. You make a play for the ball like that, you should take steps to protect yourself from the kicking team, who can deck you. Maybe I am getting old. It seems like in the old days, you would hinder opponents from recovering live balls.

I am glad the Chiefs were such gracious hosts of the Patriots, an amazing team of Champions. I appreciate Brady and Belichick for their sustained excellence and hope the Chiefs will get there soon.

Edelman—the luckiest mother****er in that stadium last night, because going anywhere near that ball was the dumbest thing he's ever done—never contacted the ball, nor did it come in contact with him. God knows he tried, but he failed.

The most annoying thing about that play was that he tried to screw up and got really, really lucky that the ball wouldn't let him screw up.

Right? I could hardly believe it as angle after angle eliminated any possibility. I would have sworn until the last angle that he couldn't have missed it entirely.
