Crow's 4.19 Mock

1-023 : Jimmie Ward - FS - Northern Illinois
5'11" 193

I'm going to call Ward a FS because that is where he is best suited to play in the NFL regardless of what his "official" position was in college. He's a rangy defender that was asked to play quite a bit of man coverage and high coverage, whether as a safety or down as the nickle defender. He's got adequate size and range to play the single-high position and great ball and tackling skills to keep the long plays the Chiefs saw last year from happening again. The only prospect that might be a better fit is HaSean Clinton-Dix of Alabama, but it is likely he will be long gone by #23. Ward fills the biggest void on KC's defense with an Earl Thomas like player. If you think I would trust Sanders Commings to start, you're nuts. I like the ability the Chiefs would have to bring Abdullah in to do a variety of things if they draft Ward.

3-087 : Trai Turner - OG - Louisiana State
6'3" 310

All the talk of late about Yankey and Richardson and all these guards "sliding down draft boards" may be true to some extent, but with all the teams that need guards in this draft, expecting them to slide all the way to #87 is a pipe dream at best. In that case, I'd take a guard that should be in that conversation in the third round, whether the draftniks think it so or not. Trai Turner does everything well, he can move people in the run game, he can hold up in the pass game, he can get to the second level and block in space, he can pull and trap, and the list goes on. This kid reminds me alot in play and physical ability of a young Will Shields. Whether or not he'll become a Will Shields will be a story for a dozen years from now, but the skill set is most certainly there and I think NFL teams are going to recognize it. The biggest hole offensively for the Chiefs in my mind is not at receiver, its at guard. Linkebach is not a good player, and the expectation that he and Allen are going to form a good duo is like a bad dream come reality in my opinion. Both are immediately replaceable.

4-124 : Mike Davis - WR - Texas
6'0" 197

The Chiefs do have an obvious need to upgrade the receiver position, but I'm not convinced they have to go all in on it with a first round pick to make a difference. Besides, if Dorsey learned anything at all from Ron Wolf, its that you don't have to spend 1st round picks on receivers to get good ones. Davis is a solid prospect for this team. He aligns with what Reid looks for in a receiver physically and in terms of ability. He's a near clone to his former 1st round pick, Jeremy Maclin. He also nearly identical to another receiver KC has been said to have interest in, Marqise Lee. You know this kid will be on the radar, and he'd be a great value pick. Davis has flashed speed, quickness, a good catch radius, and the ability to pluck the ball away from his body.

5-163 : Travis Carrie - CB - Ohio
6'0" 207

The lack of high quality defensive back depth for KC was apparent last year, even with the emergence of Marcus Cooper. The signing of Chris Owens should take some pressure off the team in the nickle, but the Chiefs still have to think long term with about the cap situation with Flowers and Smith. Carrie is a lock down man defender that does it all well. If he hadn't lost his Junior season to injury, I'd be willing to bet he'd be in the day 2 conversation. Carrie has size, speed, agility, explosiveness, he tackles well, he's a leader, he's a special teams ace, and I could go on. He's one of the better corner prospects not being talked about in my opinion.

6-193 : Khyri Thornton - DT - Southern Mississippi
6'3" 304

Thornton really looks the part of a 3-4 defensive end. He is accustomed to taking on double-teams during his time at Southern Miss, and he looked good doing it. He was nearly unblockable one-on-one, so that is a huge plus. Scouts won't be able to glance at his stat line to see how productive a player he was, but a good scouting team will see the huge potential he has to be an anchor at defensive end.

6-200 : Charles Siddoway - OT - Mississippi State
6'5" 301

Perhaps the shadow of Gabe Jackson is so large that Siddoway doesn't get talked about, but he's a hell of a solid prospect in his own right. Siddoway moves well and can drive a pile in the run game. I like this kid a ton as a right tackle/offensive guard prospect. We'll see if he can hold up to edge rushers in the NFL on the right side, but I'd have no reservations moving this kid inside if not.

How they fit:

QB Alex Smith Chase Daniel Tyler Bray
RB Jamaal Charles Knile Davis
FB Anthony Sherman

News of Note on this mock hahah..........

04/24/14 - Former Mississippi State offensive lineman Charles Siddoway and current defensive lineman Jordan Washington were arrested on Wednesday and charged with burglary and robbery. The Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Department confirmed the arrests. Lieutenant Brett Watson said the pair had an initial court appearance on Thursday and bond was set at $20,000. The 6-foot-7, 300-pound Siddoway started all 26 games of his Mississippi State career over the last two seasons. Washington is a sophomore who did not play in a game last season. Siddoway, a Eugene, Ore., native, is a possible late round selection in next month's NFL draft. Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said in a statement that the program is aware of the situation and Washington has been suspended indefinitely. The Starkville Daily News first reported the arrests. - AP Sports
