Chiefs training camp: Eddie Kennison coaching WRs
http://arrowheadaddict.com/2015/07/2...-chiefs-coach/
The Kansas City Chiefs will have a new coach on the practice field come training camp. Eddie Kennison, a former NFL wide receiver who played from 1996-2007 with four different teams, including a stint from 2001-07 with the Chiefs, will be joining Andy Reid’s staff as an intern. Kennison will be working with one of the best in the business. Chiefs wide receivers coach David Culley has a terrific reputation around the league and has been at the same position since 1994, moving from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Pittsburgh Steelers to the Philadelphia Eagles in 1999, where he was with Reid until both moved to Kansas City in 2013. During his playing days, Kennison was known as a lightning-quick player with good hands. His career numbers were 548 catches for 8,345 yards and 42 touchdowns, only losing six fumbles along the way. Kennison racked up consecutive 1,000-yard seasons with Kansas City in 2004 and 2005 as part of a prolific offense featuring Priest Holmes, Tony Gonzalez, Johnnie Morton and Trent Green. Of course, the offensive line was pretty good too. The best part of this is Kennison gets to work with a few young pups who have a game that resemble his. Albert Wilson and Chris Conley are both fast receivers who can gain separation because of their ability to accelerate out of a break. Some may forget, but Kennison was a freak of nature coming out of LSU, running the 40-yard dash in 4.28 seconds at his pro day in Baton Rouge, La. If Kennison can convey some of the finer points of the National Football League to these neophytes, Kansas City will be in good shape. If all else fails … sign him up to play. |

I've liked Eddie Kennison ever since the day he walked away from the cheating Broncos. There walks a man with values, the fundamental opposite of that Sanders person with the effeminate name in Denver now.

It's the challenge of being on an offense with three Hall of Famers (so far), a guy that set the single-season touchdown record, and at least seven pro bowlers. You tend to overlook the players who are just good.

If he can coach, it would only help the WR corps and they need it!

Works for me, hopefully he can work 1-on-1 with Conley and speed up his development.

This creates more of a situation like we have with our DB coaches the veteran coach and the young aspiring coach. I like it.

Also, I totally agree with the assessment that both conley and Wilson are very similar in styles to how Kennison played. Hopefully, he can teach them some tricks of the trade to help speed up their development and effectiveness.
Also, does KC bringing Kennison in as a coach indicate they may lean towards keeping a younger receiver with talent over Jason Avant? |

Just put Conley and wilson in Kennison's hip pocket and have them learn as much as they can.

I'd say this could very well be a sign that the team likes the rookie we drafted.
