Question for farmers

So, I just saw Food inc. on TV. I leave wanting to do everything possible to not support Monsanto companies. So, to you farmers out there, is it really that bad? Agents checking to see if you save seeds, etc.?

The show made me want to call up Monsanto and tell them I'm stealing seed from farms and selling it, then kill ( or choke out) the agents they send. Is it really as bad as the show made it out to be?

Does Monsanto have a bid out to buy Syngenta? I think I remember hearing that. I haven't heard too much from Syngenta lately. Like all of their Kansas regional reps went to the Pinnacle group or whatever it's called now.

40 Billion. Been rejected 2x. Monsanto wants crop protection. Who knows what would happen to seeds and garden. Syngenta provides 80% of the sugar beets in the US. Big in Northern Minnesota.

Thought so. Have to ask the renter for some the next time I am home.

I hold the position that you aren't objective either. I don't think you are a nutritionist either, and there are a lot of hack nutritionists that are based on a shitton of bad science. Just like dumbass anti-Vaxers, crazy quack chiropractors and the like.

I don't want to go back down that road with you, but as unobjective as you think I am, I think you are too.

I would encourage you to go to the St Louis research facility. You can heckle the **** out of the tour guide there and he might give you some perspective on the information you have been given. Also, the invitation is open to visit my fake whenever you want. There are some organic farms around that I can show you in comparison to mine.

They would want it all-but keep chem and spin off the rest. I think you got that.

Wow, how gracious of you over a difference in opinion. You're just making assertions about "hack nutritionists" with no basis in fact. I have used them and have a relative who is one with a Masters in it. I read quite a bit in the area.

I can and do when it's certified. I am sure I am eating some though. I love how the major media never reported the mass dumping of Monstanto foods in Europe. The fact that Monsanto needs a crony relationship with govt to protect them is mostly what I need to know about their products. I can understand farmers wanting the greatest yields to make a living. As far as I am concerned this has not stood the test of time long enough.

So. I don't consider his work an argument for GMO's, eventhough it's commonly cited by its supporters. Not exactly apples to apples. As far as I am concerned wild foods are the best foods.

Why is it that I can't just post my opinion on something, without it being attacked, questioned or challenged? That's all I did. So I got two responses that I answered. WTF?
I just doing what anybody else did. This is a message board, is it not?

If Monsanto owns a weather data company, they could use averages to suggest the correct seed, chemicals, and timing of everything to a specific farmer depending on location. They would provide a total management system. It could be linked with a farmers GPS data All to maximize yield and profits.

Data is the big word in everything today. We have to keep data on the kids, assessments and which group of kid passes or not. Feels like we are turning them into guinea pigs. I digress.

I didn't say all nutritionists are hacks Are even that yours was. What I do know is there is a massive amount of misinformation out there, and of course that's the shit that gets headlines.

How is it not genetically modified? Wheat, corn, sorghum, soybeans are not native to this planet. As entire species. They were selectively bred based on qualities that were favorable. But rather than capturing pollen and manually pollenating the female, Monsanto just does it far better than their predecessors.
