There was a Pizza Inn on Raytown Rd right by that Marvin's Gardens place. There also used to be a little seafood place down the street from there, nextdoor to the day old bread store, called Neptunes Galley. My folks liked that place.

My roommate and I used to go to that place and get all-you-can-eat boiled shrimp, corn on the cob and potatoes.

I'll admit that I'm not reading through over 65 pages now to see if anyone mentioned the Dish in Liberty that closed a few years ago? And does a place that was only open for a few years, and has only been closed for a couple of years count? If so I'm throwing Chicken Mac N Cheese out there as well

This is a CoMo special but I miss Alexanders that was in the Biscayne Mall. Alexanders was a steak house that you picked your steak and cooked it yourself. Huge ass grill and just a fun time. They would cook it for you for no extra charge but most people where up there grilling.

I prefer the tavern style cracker crust. That's what I always ordered there. But my friend's Chicago Style they ordered, and I tried it. It wasn't bad, and I prefer NY if I can't have thin. I didn't know that they had a lunch buffet. I'll bet it would've been worth taking a half day of work to make the drive up there to have had it

You never had the deep dish pizza at Dish? I never even knew they had a cracker crust thin pizza. In any event, if you want to try the deep dish, they're sold in the frozen foods section of your local KC grocery store and they're pretty good, IMO.

I remember my grandparents taking me to eat at Sambos. There was also a restaurant inside of the Macy's before it turned into a Dillards (I think it was a Dillards).
Waids Family Restaurant, Brywood Shopping Center 63rd Street. I remember driving by the 63rd Street Drive In on the freeway when I was young and looking at the screen in an attempt to peep nudity. I believe that is where I saw my first boob. |
