Jon Gruden signs 10-year $100M deal to be Raiders HC

Quote:
Raiders are giving new head coach Jon Gruden a 10-year contract, the longest coaching deal in NFL history, sources tell ESPN. The deal is likely to be worth about $100 million. - @AdamSchefter

I think he will have immediate success with the Raiders just because of the talent they have. Long term...not so sure

This is actually brilliant on his part. Originally the rumor could have also included an ownership stake. This way, even if he ****s the whole thing up and destroys the franchise, he'll make probably a cool 50 million before that happens.

Kados.

You know there are "outs" all over whatever you want to call this "contract". It will still be a case of see you the **** later if he doesn't reach objectives. I realize JG is or appears to be a hot commodity but really, you think the loopholes are in Gruden's favor?

Las Vegas Raiders need to sell tickets and guess what, NFL football will become an entertainment event when they hit Vegas. Gruden is there to get the excitement started, PSA's sold , naming rights maximized, and of course sales of tickets and suites to corporate and individual buyers . Those suites don't sell themselves.

Gueden will wear many hats for his paychecks.

This biggest issue will be dealing with that defense while they have no money. Derek Carr plus that Oline is a massive amount of change.

I do think he's a good coach. Great coach? Dunno. Did nothing with the Bucs after they won their first SB.
