Randy Gregory Fails Drug Test
Gregory failed his drug test at the combine for pot. His dad opened the letter sent to his home address and had to tell his son.
How far does he drop now? http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...ine/ar-AAa1cRE |

I'm a big fan of Dupree.
He went to the Broncos in the mock draft and I gagged a bit. He has a ton of attributes similar to Houston and while it may not be the best pick the Chiefs could make there, my thoughts on it would be similar to what they were for the Ford pick - perhaps not my ideal pick, but a good one nonetheless. I think Dupree will be a very nice player. He's one of those guys that played very well in a very tough conference but for the wrong team. Had he gone out there and played like he did for Alabama, Georgia, Florida or Auburn, people would be talking about him as a top 10 pick. Remember, even Justin Houston wasn't Justin Houston for a year or two. If you could get Dupree in the pipeline and ready to go in the event that the Houston thing blows up, he'd be a damn nice fit for us.

I don't see how that could be the case. Domestic abuse is a clear-cut #1 priority for the NFL. Hardy's charges were dropped and he still missed the majority of the season and still hasn't been reinstated IIRC.

The MJ part of this isn't the issue. Gregory's maturity and decision making are very much in doubt. If you can't stay clean when you know a drug test is coming, then he becomes a major risk in the first round.

Dupree is the kind of guy that would explode in our system.
You'll have to give him a full three years to get there, but Dupree is exactly the kind of goddamn stud that Dorsey salivates over. As for Gregory, I said this in DraftPlanet, but I'd take him in a mother****ing heartbeat. Hell, I'd probably trade up a couple spots to get him if I had to. |

The risk came to when you had to guarantee 'massive' contracts. With what the guarantees are with the first round picks now it is not a cap killer if your first round picks is a monumental failure.

I personally don't have a problem with it, but Josh Gordon is not helping him out. I think he slides to the teens and somebody is getting a steal

Did Justin Houston have issues with MJ that goes back to HS? Was Houston about to be removed from his team with one more failed drug test?

If we take Erving, I'm holding it against you. Not Dorsey, but you. I've been worried about that being the likely outcome ever since they signed Maclin and then you went and goddamn put a face to it. You made it a reality. A damn missile of a human being will be available to us at 18 and we're going to a 'versatile' fatty. I hate you.

If the drug tests are all pot, then I don't give a shit.
The Chiefs, the NFL, and society need to stop giving a shit about pot. It's time for that to die. And I'm not going to pass on a premium athlete out of fear that it won't. |

If Erving lands, and Fisher lives up to his promise, we'll have a Top 5 OL almost immediately. I'm GM of the Chiefs in the mock. I sign Houston, and probably draft a passrusher in 2016 when Hali moves on. |

Domestic is big because the NFL failed to handle the situation correctly from the get go with Ray Rice. I think Josh Gordon is an example of where a player with a history of a problem with weed will end up. That similar type of history will cause Gregory to fall. It isn't so much that he failed for weed. It is that he has had a problem for a long time and still has not changed/matured passed the problem. He is still denying that it is a problem.
