Interesting notes from Reid's press conference today

@TerezPaylor: Reid on his starting right tackle: "Right now we've got Donald Stephenson there. We'll see how it goes."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says tackle might be Jeff Allen's best position. Says he's coming off that injury but will compete there.

@TerezPaylor: Reid says the #Chiefs can get more playing time by being used the way he was toward the end of the year. Needs to improve run defense.

@TerezPaylor: Reid on Stephenson: "He was suspended early and gave another guy (Harris) an opportunity...there should be great competition there."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says Travis Kelce played last year at 250. Says he could easily be a really good player at 265, like he was in college.

@TerezPaylor: Reid says he did not have an opportunity to visit with Marcus Mariota, but he's a "pretty good player."

@TerezPaylor: Reid says getting through a 16 game season "was big" for Fisher. Needed "to pound through all the things" mentally, that come in full season

@TerezPaylor: Reid says Dee Ford can get more playing time by being used the way he was toward the end of the year. Needs to improve run defense.

wow, he's coming cheap.

He could be useful for us since he can play center and guard, we might need either or both.

Great news that Stephenson is out of the dog house. That way we don't take a OL in the first round. I would also like us to sign Wisnewski too! That way in the first 2 rounds we can hit WR and ILB right away. Use some of our mid round picks on a long term G/T and a C to fill the long term need.

You never know with the draft and Andy Reid's love of linemen. Don't put it past us to trade Stephenson or Allen before the season starts if they like someone else, especially with both being in their contract year. They traded Rishaw Johnson last year...

He's putting waaay too much stock in a very bland statement, that statement couldn't be more non-committal if it tried.... if some badass like Peat or Scherff, with the ability to kick Fisher over to RT in the future, if he keeps stinking it up at left tackle, is available...

Chiefs SS Eric Berry's recovery from Hodgkin's lymphoma is "going well."
However, the Chiefs have no update on Berry's football career. That's on the way back burner, anyway, as Berry's health is at the forefront. It sounds like the 26-year-old is progressing well. He's back behind the wheel and driving again.

Forgot about Rishaw Johnson. People thought that was a bad trade. The dude has been on 4 different practice squads since being traded.

Agreed. It's good to hear that he is on the road to recovery.

You are correct.
He had his best plays last year coming in on pass downs, and blitzing from an ILB spot.

The only thing I hate more than idea of spending another 1st on a LT is starting Fisher at LT...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Agreed. I'm not even sure why someone even made that suggestion. He was awful at right tackle.
