Four Suspicious Devices Found in Waterford Lakes near Orlando

The Orange County Sheriff's Office bomb squad has been called out to examine at least four suspicious devices — one of which may be a grenade — that were "strategically placed" beneath cars and outside a day care near the Waterford Lakes town center.

Orange County Mayor Teresa Jacobs said during a meeting this morning that multiple devices were left in ominous locations including near a day-care center, in the middle of road, under a sheriff's patrol car and a civilian car in the 700 block of North Alafaya Trail.

Several businesses at the shopping center have been evacuated along with a nearby apartment complex, according to Orange County Fire Rescue officials. Authorities have also shut down the road at Waterford Lakes Parkway and Alafaya Trail.

Initially, one device was reported to be a black metal canister in the road near the Best Buy department store.

Few details immediately available. Check back for updates.

Never mind.

DAYTONA BEACH --

A Daytona Beach hotel has been evacuated due to a bomb threat. Police evacuated the Extended stay America on 255 Bill France Blvd. which is off W. International Speedway Blvd. This is the fourth building evacuation in four days in the area.

Daytona Beach Police tells News 13 that a note was found stating that a bomb would go off at 9:30 a.m.

The Volusia County Sheriff's Office bomb squad is investigating.

This is the fourth bomb threat in the Daytona Beach area in the last four days.

On Monday an office building at 444 Seabreeze Blvd., in Daytona Beach, was evacuated shortly after 9:30 a.m. after police said someone called the Fifth Third Bank inside the building, threatening to detonate a bomb unless the bank wired money to him through Western Union.

Police shut down the area surrounding the building for about two hours. Bomb-sniffing dogs swept the inside of the building, but police said they found nothing.

That threat was similar to two others made over the weekend at two grocery stores. A Winn-Dixie in Daytona Beach Shores and a Publix in Daytona Beach, were briefly evacuated Saturday.

In both cases, investigators said the person making the threats demanded money to be wired to them. But the bomb squad said no bombs were found inside either store.

Yes, it is. Brilliant observation skills.

Guess what, though? The BOMBERS in Boston also had GUNS.
