Guys you definitely DON'T want at 18

Anyone you really DO NOT want at #18? Here's my list so far:

1) Any CB. From what I've seen in the vids, there seem to be a bunch of decent CBs, but none that really stand out to me. I'd pass on all of them until at least Round 2 or 3. Definitely do not want one at 18.

2) DGB. Probably will be better options available than a guy who hasn't played football for over a year and has ample off the field baggage. Might gamble if he was there for our 3rd round picks.

3) All ILBs. Again, some decent guys available, but probably not first round material.

4) J Winston. He isn't going to fall this far, but I'd pass on the guy. Too immature to be a leader. I'd let someone else have that headache.

5) Also, I'm not sure I'd opt for yet another OLB at 18. We have Houston, Hali and Ford. Cannot imagine that Ford is a total miss, so I'd probably not go OLB at 18. This would include Gregory, Dupree or Ray. Might be missing out on a very good player, but geez, how many OLBs can you play at once? (Caveat: IF they intend on releasing/trading Houston, then I'd consider an OLB at 18.....just not Gregory.....he's a blink away from a nice suspension what with his apparent need for MJ.

6) I guess I'd be ok with C Erving, but I've gotta tell you, that selection really doesn't excite. I'd like to think that we'd have better options available at 18.

That's my list, how about yours???

Dupree gives them leverage with Houston as well.

No. While he can drop back effectively, he doesn't have the lateral agility to be effective in that role.

The guy is 270 lbs. And ****ing fast.

He's a rush end.

There is no way on god's green earth that he'll ever play MLB.

Other than Collins and Humphries I don't think I'd be thrilled with the other tackle prospects. I do not understand the Arik Armstead hype. I might be the only one on this board who would be okay with Gurley.

Perfect world would be an occasional 2 LBs inside who can both cover and rush, essentially 4 rush-backers on the field at the same time.

At linebacker you can have all the measurable in the world, but at the end of the day it means nothing if you don’t produce and Zach Vigil produced more last season than any other inside linebacker in the draft. His performance was consistent week in and week out with two negatively-graded games in 15 weeks.

When you think of a small school linebacker with big production getting little draft buzz it’s easy to assume that he’s a poor athlete, but that’s not the case with Vigil. His pro day numbers put him right around the inside linebacker average for almost all the events compared to historical combine figures. When you watch his tape, though, his coordination and instincts both jump out as above average.

The middle linebacker graded well above average rushing the passer, in coverage, and against the run. Vigil’s 76 total stops were the second most in the draft class and his 36 total pressures were the second most as well. He was also a very reliable tackler missing just 12 all year compared to 131 combined solos and assists.

Id be upset if they drafted my MOM at 18. She has Parkinsons now and her memory is getting really bad and she has to wear a diaper.

Hog, this is wrong on so many levels that I cannot begin to count them. And here I thought you were better than that! However, given that this is Draft Week, I'll just chalk this up to you being overwhelmed with "draft emotion".

Boys, we need to get this draft behind us lest Hog loses touch with any/all levels of personal deportment. C'mon Hog, hang in there for just a couple more days!!!

This is a pretty deep draft. Usually, I am set on two-three players with the first pick. I can't say that's the same this year. I am not a big fan of taking OL or DL in the 1st round this year. I've seen Armstead and Erving mocked a few times to KC...and I'm not a huge fan of either, particularly in this draft where OL and DL depth is good.

List
* No OL in the first.
* No DL in the first.
* A Baldwin-esque WR in round 1 ala Devin Funchess.

Looking for an impact/1st year starter at CB, ILB, or WR with the 18th pick.
