4.7 as a Freshman in college. Knee injuries plus lots of beer and I'm probably worth a solid 5.2 today.

It was hilarious. and I still guarantee that REALISTICALLY considering the demographics of this board 0-3 people TOPS had legitimate 4.5 speed at any time in their lives. I still don't think people realize how INSANELY fast a 4.5 is... I honestly reread this thread for laughs and one of the posters said he as 240 lbs and ran like a 4.5... ... ... I feel bad for some of you. |

I did in HS many moons ago, but I was a distance runner in track and cross country. The shortest race I ran back then was the two mile relay (800M X 4) which I ran in 52 seconds. I honestly don't recall my time since that wasn't a race I ever did during a meet.

We had to run a 400 in under 55 seconds for backs and receivers and while most of us made (just barely, I might add), lots of guys were puking their guts out. I only felt sick but I wish I had hurled. |

I think he must have meant 1:52 for the 800. The fastest I ever saw any guy run the 400 when I ran track in high school was about 48 seconds. Running 52 seconds in a half mile would be running over 30 mph.

Got a lot of stuff on the mind today.... 52 secs was my 400 time which I never ran on race day. My primary races were the 1600 and 3200 in track. Occasionally I'd have to fill in on the 2 mile relay if somebody couldn't make the meet. It's been 23 years since HS, so I don't recall my time there either. I ran a 4:52 mile 1600, and 10:56 2 mile my senior year.
