Broncos are probably going to take Mayfield, and we will probably hate him.

...if we don't already.

He's suuuuuuuch a Bronco, too.

Mayfield isn't a Bronco yet. The gauntlet shouldn't be thrown down until he is.

He'd make our line. We could probably get away with the scrubs we have at RT if we had him. I'd rather not, but it's doable.

I wouldn't go that far. Your RT talent as it is now absolutely sucks. With Bosa, Mack, and Houston on your schedule 2× each you should get a competent journeyman in FA at the very least, and then invest more in the position during the first 3 rounds of the draft.

You don’t want an RT at 5. Way too high.

Probably be a stud there if you choose to stay away from the QB’s. The 2nd or 3rd round pick there should be some great options for linemen.

It sucks when you have high picks cause you suck, but they’re high in every round. If your GM knew what he was doing you could get a lot better quickly...

Not true. Mahomes was still in high school when Mayfield left. Mayfield threw a tantrum because there was going to be an open competition for the bowl game. If you look at all the stats, Davis Webb outplayed him on the season. Better passer rating, MUCH better QBR on ESPN, better TD:INT ratio, etc.

Mayfield struggled big time in Austin over Thanksgiving weekend (last game of regular season). Kingsbury had every right to have an open competition but Mayfield thought it wasn't fair so he left.

In any event, Mayfield would have lost the job to Mahomes just like Webb was unable to keep the job against Mahomes. No way in hell you can watch Pat in practice against those guys and pick the other two.

With the other four spots being solid we could dedicate our protection to helping the RT. I'd rather not do that though. I'd rather draft it and fix the problem, as I'm underwhelmed by the staff's ability to find quality for the O-Line in FA.

If it weren't for Nelson I'd rather trade out of the #5. Grab an OT that will either beat out Bolles or immediately take the RT spot. Also grab a lesser Guard.

I don't go into that thread anymore because it devolved into homertarded ****wittery on all sides but my opium dream for the upcoming draft would be this:

DEN signs Cousins. OAK wins the coin toss and SF picks at #10. We trade the #5 to Miami for their #11 and their 2nd round pick. Then we trade both 2nd round picks to SF for the #10 pick. We grab OG Nelson and an OT of choice (Williams, McGlinchey) at #10 and #11. And then I don't give a shit what happens after that.

The Broncos are about to get their very own version of Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell. Can't wait.

Yeah, we need to take better players than that into Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
