How could you not possibly welcome this Eagles game?

This is going to be super intense.

This defense has proven itself as pretty goddamn good. It has shut Gabbert's Shitfest the **** down, and went toe-to-toe against the Cowboys air attack, bent a bit, rarely broke, and came out mostly victorious.

So let's do the next thing, right? Bring in a high-flying, super productive offense that seems to have no answer yet.

I want to see if this defense can fence in Vick. I want to see if LeSean McCoy can find any running room, because, repeat after me: you cannot run on the Chiefs.

I want to see how Flowers and Smith do on islands against DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin. Flowers should revert back to form now that he doesn't have to deal with a receiver who does not have Dez Bryant's nightmarish skillset.

I want to see how our nickels and dimes do against their tertiary receivers. I want to see if Jason Peters and Lane Johnson can keep Houston and Hali at bay.

I want to see if they ever, ever dare to single-team Dontari Poe again. (My guess is Hell to the No.)

Or how well can Akeem and DJ fly to the ball when Vick tries to scramble out.

I'm just approaching this from a defense-lover's standpoint. I've always loved defense, and this is probably the best defense we've had (so far) going on something like 15 years.

It almost seems to waste something this good on Blaine ****ing Gabbert. Give me the Chip Kelly Challenge every week of the year, and let's take this defense for a drive.

DeSean Jackson can go **** himself. Don't care. He's nothing.

Vick? More like Fick, which is more like ****, amirite?

Chip Kelly's weird formations in the passing game look nasty, but I'd love to see Sutton dial up one of his explosive RAPE EVERYTHING blitzes and stop that shit before it even begins.

Nah. I think if we lose, it's going to be because McCoy chews us up on screens and delayed draws.
It seems to me Chip did not use any strange formations against the chargers. I think he is saving them for the NFC East.

Is it possible those defenses are the worst, in part, because they faced the Eagles offense?

He has been absolutely terrible for several years so either your defense is really really bad, or he is coming back to form.

I tend to believe its a combo.

I had a dream last night that Andy Reid went into the game against the Eagles. He wasn't wearing pads or a helmet, just his coaching gear. The very first play on special teams he was tackled away from the ball and hard into the turf. The trainers were giving him a concussion evaluation. He was bleeding from the forehead and didn't seem to know where he was. I didn't even know what happened until I had watched the replay. The guy that tackled him had a name like McNee? I was writing a post about the guy responsible, and how the play was bullshit.

I think I'm taking this game a little too seriously.

I would love to see philly run one of the plays where every linemen on their offense cut blocks right after the snap and Poe hurdle them for the sack. I think it's cheap when they do that crap.

If the Chiefs get pressure, Vick should turn it over. The Chiefs stopped getting pressure in the second half against DAL, so I wonder how they would do tired against this offense.
I thought it actually got better....

I was expecting a little better than average - not that though. It could be a combination for sure.

If Poe continues to be a nightmare, the Eagles are in trouble. Vick is too short to see above the line and tends to struggle when the pocket quickly collapses on him. Because he needs a throwing window. Also, flowers matches up much better to desean than to dez. Throw in that chilly and Ault have been consulting on the spread so the Chiefs know the offense.
If the Chiefs have enough time to prep they'll be fine. I just despise the Nfl for valuing ratings over competitive parity. Forcing a team to go on the road then play 4 days later.... Given how many adjustments the defense will need to make, I worry they don't have enough time to prep.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the pivitol Rob Parker strip fumble recovery was in the second half. I'd consider that getting pressure on Romo.
