...I mean, for god's sake...I'd rather start Alfred Blue (who) this week than Marshawn Lynch, and I'm not kidding.
...well, it's close but still Knile Davis Alfred Blue Donald Brown Ahmad Bradshaw Bobby Rainey etc these are viable RB1/RB2's after ... TWO WEEKS draft RB's early and you lose fortunately, everyone does it...so everyone loses...and someone has to win (me, the guy who takes Peyton Manning #1 overall and Jimmy Graham #2) |

I think TE is crucial, crucial, crucial. For one, it is not easy (borderline impossible) to find emerging/elite TE's on the wire or in later rounds if you are in a jam. If you nab someone like Jimmy Graham, it's nice knowing that chances are, you'll have a very good chance of outscoring your opponent's TE. Gives you such a good advantage.

RBs are overvalued in PPR -especially leagues with one or two FLEX spots.

disagree
I went 4-1 this week and I think the best RB I had (and of course, I had him in all leagues) was Rashad Jennings. Also started Alfred Blue and Ahmad Bradshaw in most leagues. It's hilarious. This isn't an anomaly. This is every year. By week 3 or 4 there are at least 10 new starting RB's that weren't even on any radars during fantasy drafts. Yet people keep wasting PREMIUM picks on the likes of the Eddie Lacy's of the world. Hey, whatever...it keeps making me $$$ every year. |

As far back as 1999 I've been doing this, that season with the 12th pick in a 12 man I went Randy Moss and Torry Holt and cruised thru the season.
This year in a 10 man 8th pick I went Jimmy Graham and Julio Jones and currently at 3-0. Absolutely agree and I love being in leagues where rb's are way overrated by the other owners.

I always go for QBs and WRs before RBs but this year it has bit me in the ass. I have Rodgers, Megatron and Fitz. Running backs I thought I got good value in but are either hurt or not doing good - Doug Martin, Arian Foster, Frank Gore, Ahamd Bradshaw, Mark Ingraham.

It's complete and random luck regardless.
A team that went Lynch, Bernard, Antonio Brown and Crabtree with their first four are likely 3-0 right now. I went "zero RB" this year in one league and my first four picks were Demaryius, Dez, Gronk and Stafford. Picked up Jennings, Vereen, CJ2K and Joique with my next four picks. I'm 1-2. Random luck. |

I'd agree with you after the first couple picks. The start of this year has been an anomaly with Charles hurt, shady not doing much and forte only a little better. I was never going to draft AP in the top five this year. I went RB at 3 (12 team) and 5 (10 team) this year and still landed Julio/Antonio Brown and Dez/garçon in those leagues. I'm betting that by years end shady, Charles and forte have out scored or are within 10 points of the top tier WR.
After those guys are gone I might considered drafting WRs in the first round. |

RBs taken in the 1st (vs. WRs and, I guess, the top tier of QBs) have a lower floor and greater bust potential. But waiting until the 4th to address RB leaves you with nothing but dregs and fliers.
