It was a shit call. Perez NEVER gets that call. Hell, when was the last time you even saw that call made? Cain wasn't blocking the throw in any way, the Detroit catcher just bumped into him AFTER he threw. Horrible, horrible call at a critical point of the game.

This team really reminds me of the 1974 Royals trying to catch the Oakland A's. Every time we'd get close, the A's would just pummel us. Just piss right in our Wheaties. We finally got by them in 1976, only to get the same treatment from the Yankees.
We have to learn how to beat Detroit, or we're just another .500 ballclub. |

The situation makes it worse because it's going to decide the game. If I were an Ump, I wouldn't call batter interference unless I saw the batter obviously trying to interfere with the throw. I saw nothing there that showed me that. Just Cain's follow-through moving him slightly towards the plate. If there's anything to blame, it's that Cain swung too hard and was off-balance.

Different umpires have different judgements Yes Cain fell back over the plate. The replay doesn't lie. That's a professional umpire making a professional level call.
