All Things Video Games & Game Reviews

Hey guys...
Thought we could use a thread to help one another out with purchasing new and used games. Now that the next gen consoles are out and the holiday season will soon be upon us, many new games are going to drop. We've been throwing 'reviews' in several different threads or making new threads for each game. I thought we might like to converge and discuss them as a whole. Whether you're on PS3, 360, PS4, XB one or even a wii, PC and Mac, this is a repository for what you're playing and how you rate it.

Let's try to do a 1-10 scale for each game. Take into account the following:

Storyline
Challenge
Replayability
Graphics
Online functionality
Downloadable content
AI/npc's
Price
Length of gameplay

You can use all or some of those as a guide to score the game. If there are other aspects you'd like to tell as about with your game, please do so. These are just suggentions.

Please note what system, (if necessary i.e. It being exclusive to a system) you're playing on and let us know what you think.

1. Sucks, I'd rather watch Brodie Croyle play as our starter. This game is dogshit.
2. Don't waste your time. It's obviously been programmed by a bunch of chimps with syphilis.
3. I'd rather eat tapioca pudding out of my grandmothers colostomy bag, then stick my tongue in her stoma.
4. Meh, there's really better stuff to do, (like waxing my pubes) but I was lazy.
5. This is kinda like purgatory. It's not the best place to be but it could be worse.
6. Not bad at all... It's like I just scored a BJ from my hot first cousin.
7. Entertaining as all hell, kinda like the feeling where you just drank enough not to puke and can still walk.
8. Buy this game, I'm super-cereal. It's got stuff that makes my nipples tingly.
9. HELL F'ing YEAH! I'd talk more about it but I'm gonna be locked in place for a week just playing this ****er.
10. This game is like godfather two and the empire strikes back joined forces to **** your face off with wow. I'm taking all of my PTO days and going on FMLA.

EDIT: We can also discuss upcoming/all things gaming in here as well.
Enjoy!

The Creativity of LEGO Building Meets the Epic Story-Telling of LEGO Videogames for Multi-Dimensional Fun

Fan-Favourite Worlds Converge in One Thrilling Adventure — A Dark Knight, a Wizard, and a Master Builder Travelling Down the Yellow Brick Road is Just the Beginning!

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games and The LEGO Group today announced LEGO® Dimensions, an all-new entertainment experience that breaks the rules of traditional gaming to merge physical LEGO brick building with interactive console gameplay in a manner only imaginable in the world of LEGO games. Launching 27th September, 2015, the game will fuse many fan-favourite universes together, including DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago, Back to the Future, and many more still to be announced.

LEGO Dimensions, developed by TT Games and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, will be available for Xbox One, the all-in one games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment systems and Nintendo´s Wii™ U system.

For the first time in any LEGO videogame, characters from iconic entertainment franchises join forces and battle in worlds outside of their own. In addition to the game, the LEGO Dimensions Starter Pack will include the LEGO Toy Pad, which allows players to transport special LEGO minifigures and other LEGO objects into the game, bricks to build the LEGO Gateway, three LEGO Minifigures, including LEGO BatmanTM from DC Comics, LEGO Gandalf from The Lord of the Rings and Wyldstyle from The LEGO Movie, plus the LEGO BatmobileTM.

In addition to the three minifigure heroes used to start the experience, LEGO Dimensions will allow gamers to customize their experience with additional expansion packs. Highly collectible Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs will provide new buildable characters, vehicles, tools and gadgets, as well as compelling game content with new mission-based levels and unique in-game abilities. All expansion packs will feature well-known properties and provide gamers the opportunity to use everything interchangeably, anywhere throughout the game – with no limitations.

A small sample of packs available in 2015 include the Back to the Future Level Pack with a LEGO Marty McFly minifigure, a LEGO Ninjago Team Pack with Kai and Cole minifigures, three Ninjago Fun Packs with Jay, Nya and Zane minifigures, two DC Comics Fun Packs with Wonder Woman and Cyborg minifigures, three The Lord of the Rings Fun Packs with LEGO Gollum, LEGO Gimli and LEGO Legolas minifigures, four The LEGO Movie Fun packs with Emmet, Bad Cop, Benny and Unikitty characters, and a The Wizard of Oz Fun Pack with a LEGO Wicked Witch of the West minifigure. Additional packs to round out the 2015 assortment will be announced in the months leading to launch. Further waves of expansion packs will be released regularly following the launch of the game and into 2016.

LEGO Dimensions not only offers a bridge between digital and physical LEGO play, but also introduces a digital system of play with great long-term value for LEGO gaming. One LEGO Toy Pad, LEGO Gateway and the videogame found in the initial Starter Pack will offer endless opportunities to customize a player’s experience for years to come. Future expansion pack purchases will continue to work with the Starter Pack, even in the fall of next year. No compatibility chart necessary.

link me to the buy now button

Also what are the dangers of buying that for 28 bucks from Brazil? would they ban the entire steam account or just that game would be no good?

Bloodborne Review - PS4

I've delved into this write up a few times but I've always failed to really capture this game via the written word.
However, I'm going to really try and describe Bloodborne to you all.

Ok, I am an intermediate gamer. I'll give anything a shot if it looks interesting and can really give a challenge. This game is the most challenging, intricate and detailed game I've ever played.
Imagine the only video game you've ever played is Pac Man. Years and years of that comforting little yellow bastard eating dots and ghosts.
Then after 20 years, you've decided to go all "War Games" and play Global Thermal Nuclear War.
I've played about every AAA title over the last 10 years and none of them hold a candle to this.
You play as a Hunter in a gothic 17th century europan city that has been infected with some sort of plague that turns men into malformed beasts. You create your character to have certain attributes and off you go. Very little direction, no tutorials, difficulty sliders or assistance of any type. You wander this huge city, killing these mutants and collecting helpful items. You utilize in game currency to rank up your Hunter. Abilities like health, strength, endurance, arcane etc. and the more you upgrade, the more expensive items and upgrades become.

As a noob to the genre, I was literally a red pube away from trading this bitch in on MLB 15 or something. However, I am glad I stuck with it.
The storyline starts to unfold and for those of you who are more scholarly you will come to find the lore fascinating. It parallels a lot of Norse Mythology.
Whilst patrolling the city, if you take time to really look around you'll see the exceptional level of detail. It's very dark, yet beautiful.
I highly suggest you look at a few high-def gameplay vids. You'll see what I mean.
Speaking of which, if you're like me, (super-noob) don't allow yourself to get frustrated to the point of quitting. You will die, a lot.
As you advance through the game, you will become very familiar with the surroundings and you will memorize enemy locations, patrolling habits, weaknesses and strengths.
After you level up and progress through the game you will begin to face bosses. They will always kick your ass at first. I was actually over-leveled for one or two bosses and they still managed to get me until I learned their behaviors and strategized. There's always a way.
The graphics in this game are good. I've seen better but really, they're fitting for the game and because there's so much going on, it's already straining the system. If they upgraded the graphics any more, it would have a hell of a time keeping up. I've actually had a couple of bogging issues recently.
The game runs at 30fps but unless you really care, you won't notice.

The music is just beautiful. Probably right up there with The Last of Us. Very appropriate and timed perfectly. There's no music playing while you're just cruising around but boss levels and specialized areas have it.
Anyway, if you're up for a real pain in the ass challenge and a great experience, this is the game for you. Bloodborne is more of an investment than you'll be used to. Be prepared for at least 70 hours of gameplay which is just unheard of and the rush you get when you finally break through a boss level or an extremely difficult area is just awesome.
Really the only negatives I can see are the occasion bogging issues and maybe the lack of direction at first but the former is really part of the games charm and environment.
I have to go ahead and rate this at a perfect 10. There's nothing on the market quite like it, (especially for consoles). As I'm sure you're all aware, the Dark Souls games are its predecessor but it's a very different experience. Give it a shot. You won't be disappointed.

two things: No effect on your steam account as this is not the steam version, but the rockstar social club. Even if you buy the steam version, it activates through the social club anyways. The danger is you are out $29.
