Maclin the biggest Chiefs free agent signing since?

I think you'd have to go back to Chester McGlockton.

I feel great about Maclin being a Chief. We got a significant upgrade over Bowe and for only $1 million more a year.

Eric Winston was a chump. Watch the last offensive play that we ran against (i think) Indianapolis. We hand the ball off to Payton Hillis and run left. Your not taking into consideration that Bowe, for the performance given, is way over paid. He is not a #1 receiver and we are paying him like one.

Plus if he did take a pay cut is this the type guy you want mentoring the young receiver we will probably draft. He doesn't strike me as that guy but Avant does.

Not in any particular order.
The only one of those that fits the description of the kind of FA the OP is asking about is Marcus Allen, and even that's stretching.

And Emmit Thomas, an undrafted FA?
Really?

We can now understand why Chip Kelly let Maclin get away. While Maclin is a very nice receiver, paying him more than guys like Randall Cobb, Jordy Nelson and Antonio Brown is a monstrous stretch. It's also a stretch to think Alex Smith could support a wide receiver enough for him to be worth $11 million annually. The Eagles were reportedly offering Maclin $9 million per year.

He is a broke dick with acl problems
We've been paying a receiver that kind of money to block, so this should be alright.

Did anyone mention Lew Bush?
Technically, if he was a transition player, he was still a FA.

That, however is incorrect.

The league determined that the Raiders did something sketchy with regards to the franchise tag and McGlocton, and allowed teams to negotiate for the services of McGlockton, and awarded he Raiders a pick at the end of the first round when he signed with the Chiefs.

The Chiefs did not give up any draft compensation.

Didn't something weird happen with the guy the Raiders picked with that pick, like he died or something?

I am wrong here, also.

The Chiefs did have to give up a 2nd round pick.

I can't think of any that are more overhyped than Maclin.

Define overhyped.

He isn't Suh, or Revis, but he is easily the best FA receiver on the market, and a better fit for this offense than any receiver we could have signed.
