I'm taking a wait and see approach. Bowe's first 5 seasons were better than Maclin's. Career YPG are 63.6 for Maclin vs 60.6 for Bowe, including his Alex Smith years. The most likely out come is that we will STILL be overpaying for limited production from the WR position.

No it's not. He had one bad injury in 2013 that caused him to miss the season. That's it.
Aside from that 1 major injury in 6 years, the guy only missed 5 games out of 80 possible. So he was available 94% of the time.
