Gamblers, help me make a smart bet
Raiders friend and I are entertaining a $1k bet on who ends up with the better overall record, Chiefs or Raiders.

We have very similar strength of schedule. What other factors do I need to be thinking of?

UPDATE - Two bets were made:
Bet 1: $1,000 - Whoever has the better overall record (if a tie, we look to draft order placement to determine the winner).
Bet 2: $500 - Head to Head winner (if a regular season tie, a rubber-match in the playoffs decides. If there is no 3rd game, we push).

Without looking at the schedule... maybe Raiders road trips? Pacific time zone team travelling to east coast/central morning games?

If you aren't getting odds that's an amazing bet. You might consider a hedge like the Raiders to win the AFC West.

Raiders 7.5 over total wins is a lock in vegas. KC 9 wins is not a lock to go over. Take that for what it's worth.

They're the Fade. They haven't finished above .500 in centuries. That should be good enough. If it's not, just remember their coach is Jack Diarrhea. That should def help get you in the right frame of mind.

Based on what we've discussed so far, Im thinking it will be finalized before Game 1 of regular season.

The hedge that's been discussed is an opt-out if a designated player (before game 1) misses "X" number of games (4? 6? 8?).

So, he would probably designate Carr, and I would probably designate Smith (or someone else?).
