Escobar's HR would have been out in most parks. That was a bomb (and it would have been a wall-scraper in KC).

Moustakas's HR, on the other hand, would have been an out at the wall - if they could have gotten there.

Definitely. That ball would have just cleared the Royals bullpen.

I don't care if they don't win it all, this has been an amazing ride.. I sure hope they do, and there's no quit in this team so they have a chance, but this is simply amazing.

I hope the team has caught the bug for it as much as the fans.

I just want to point out that being negative is what I do. When I'm like **** this team we're done that's me being negative to get them to do something. I've always been this way. If I annoy you guys just tell me. I'll quit posting in the game threads.

Never stop posting... And don't let the perennial organizational kiss-asses, self-thought sports intellectuals, or those who like to play the role of the calm diplomat keep you from posting either.

And never think a little negative reinforcement doesn't motive people. It can't all be negative, but making a mole-hill out of a mountain, describing a wild fire as a brush fire, describing an inrush of water beyond the capcity of of the trim pump as a leak, doesn't help to solve the problem. These aren't Rhodes Scholars, so many of them benefit from a little reality orientation when they're messing up.

There are FAR to many of those snobs that like to think they have some kind of corner on the sports-knowledge market and, unfortunately, too many people think their monotone voice somehow makes them more right.

They're like the people in the suites and yellow seat in Arrowhead; sure, they're well-off and seats and rooms are sweet gigs (been in a few and they're nice for what they are), but are they bigger fans than those in 308 row 30? Do they know more about football? Nope, not at all. And I'll say most of them know less about football and they really aren't helpful as a 12th man. Same applies to Royals fans...

But alas, they think they're awesome, ask them, they'll tell you...

Nah. Fandom is a very organic, natural thing to me. You can't fake it. So I won't.

It's enjoyable to witness, though.

I'm not really second guessing Ned, because I don't think any managers in baseball would do this. But When it was bases loaded, with one out, Billy coming to the plate. I was hoping for a PH. All you have to do in this scenario is literally hit the ball on the ground fair if you have a fast runner at the plate, & make sure you don't get a DP. You could see the GIDP coming a mile away with Billy there. Yes, Billy probably has a better chance to hit a sac fly to the OF, but seems like it would be easier to score with a ground ball. With Dyson on Third, you don't even need a deep fly ball, or a good grounder. He can get to home fast. You could ever bunt with Gore. I know no managers would PH with Gore, who has no major league at bats for in recent years All Star Billy Butler, but I think it could have worked.

Or you could put in Colon, who almost never strikes out, is a great contact hitter. Isn't the fastest player in the world but isn't slow either and would probably beat out 50-60% of the DP balls Butler would. Would just like to know someone's thoughts on this who's smarter than me.

Yep, and that is what decided the game.
