I think that's it. It's for the games in the NL park, where you do more pinch-hitting and double-switching. Colon can play 2B/SS/3B, whereas Nix can fill in anywhere just in case they go that deep. If he bats, we're probably screwed, but Ned wants as much flexibility as possible for those games (hopefully no more than 2 ).

Infante wasn't sitting anyway, and if he gets hurt Colon can replace him on the roster.

During the playoffs I was afraid that if they stopped winning, they'd start losing.

At this point, though, I'm not sure that's an issue, and even if it is, I'm pretty fat and happy with an AL pennant.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

I was *slightly* encouraged by Infante's play the last two games of the ALCS. His throws to first were better, and he had better AB's, taking the counts deep and getting on a few times.

Otherwise I think you go to Colon, but Ned was never going to do that. And honestly, if Ned told me I should wear women's panties on my head to work, I'd probably do it and end up with some sort of Vailpass-ish profit.

Oh, man, I'm the worst about that. Something bad is always lurking around the corner for my teams.

Unless it isn't.

I'm not complaining or pulling the "Woe is us, we're cursed" card with the 2014 Royals. Been a great ride. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Nothing that happens in the Series will diminish that.

I pretty much feel like I did in 1980. Beating the Yankees was the ultimate for me. Losing to the Phillies was disappointing, especially since we blew three games, but to this day I remember beating the Yankees the most. It's my most cherished sports memory. And I'm sure I will always remember the 8-0 run through the playoffs for the 2014 Royals.

People saying they would be fine if they lost and would be ok with the pennant. **** that!! You don't play for pennants. You play to win the World Series and as far as I'm concerned it doesn't look like the royals will lose anytime soon
