Ok here's the actual numbers:

Steve Pearce has a 1.109 OPS against lefties
Adam Jones has a 1.003 OPS against lefties (.709 against righties)
Nelson Cruz has a .976 OPS against lefties

Mike Trout, the probably league MVP, had a .938 OPS this year.

So we're facing 3 guys in that lineup that are better hitters than the league MVP against lefties. I don't think I can even justify giving Duffy the ball over Guthrie against this team.

We can use Finnegan and Duffy out of the pen to take care of the bottom of the lineup and Nick Markakis.

Other than that, I think Shields and Ventura can definitely hold this lineup at check.

They have a very good bullpen with Andrew Miller (a hard throwing lefty who had an AMAZING season) in the 8th and Zach Britton (another lefty) in the 9th...

Meaning Nix probably has to be on the roster for the ALCS because we're going to have to pinch hit for Moose against those guys. I still don't like Colon at 3B and I'm still not convinced he shouldn't be getting starts at 2B for Infante.

We can score off of their starters, though.

And I don't think Baltimore matches up well against our Herrera/Davis/Holland 3 headed monster whatsoever. Not one bit.

And we'll still have Gore, we'll still have Dyson...

and we'll still have Cain and Gordon taking away hit after hit in that OF

I don't see why this series isn't winnable for us. I think it's easily a 50/50 proposition.

I honestly have a hard time throwing a single left handed pitcher against Cruz, Pearce or Jones the entire series, though.

Nelson Cruz has done nothing but dominate in the postseason at the plate during his career.

3 man rotation IMHO

I'd still use Duffy as our 3 but that's just because he has elite stuff
I don't think Duffy is starting any game in any series. They won't admit it, but I think he is injured and they don't think he can stretch a start over 6+ innings. Thats why they're using him as the long relief guy.

Buck Showalter is probably the best manager in baseball, which I do envy

But Ned didn't have a bad series. Other than pitching Vargas against Kendrick, he was good.

If I told you Billy Butler was going to steal a base and we were going to win by 5+ runs would you have believed me?

Funny thing is for all the great things he's done, this is the first time Buck Showalter has been to a league championship series too.

I still can't believe they pulled Wilson so early. His curve was filthy.

They had to...

He's imploded like 6 times in the 1st inning this year...

3-1 with 24 outs left isn't unmanageable.

He walks a couple of more guys and gives up another gapper or home run...

game over

It doesn't matter either way, though...once Alex hit that ball I pretty much figured it was going to be our night.
