Former Ohio State Star and NFL Receiver Terry Glenn Has Died in a Car Accident

http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/...t5R&ocid=ientp

Terry Glenn has died this morning in a car accident, according to several reporters. He was 43 years old. Former teammates and NFL veterans have taken to Twitter with the news.

Terry Glenn starred in his hometown with the Ohio State Buckeyes, winning the Fred Biletnikoff Award for best receiver in 1995 with over 1,400 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was drafted by the New England Patriots the next year in the first round, and immediately had an impact. The Patriots, coached by Bill Parcells and with Drew Bledsoe at quarterback, reached the Super Bowl in his rookie year.

He played for the Patriots until 2001, when he left the team amid suspension, and being deactivated by Bill Belichick. After one year in Green Bay, he revived his career in Dallas, with two one-thousand yard seasons in 2005 and 2006.

Yep, very memorable line. Along with "if they want you to cook the dinner, they should let you buy the groceries". Terry Glenn was involved in some interesting times in Foxboro.

Let the record show, by the way, that Bobby Grier was right and Parcells dead wrong about that pick. Glenn was quite a bit better than the guy Parcells wanted (some Dlineman who was mediocre).

(Let the record also show that Bobby Grier didn't get much ELSE right, however).

All that said, this is pretty sad news. He was WAY too young. RIP.

If it helps, my first thought when seeing he had died was to wonder if cause of death was a pulled hammy.

Nobody ever accused me of being classy.

Glenn was a good player, and Parcells was wrong.. but I will never forget when he said that.

FFS, I was still in high school.
