Will the Chiefs re-sign Berry
What is the consensus on whether or not the Chiefs get Eric Berry a new contract in the off season?
IMO, the guy is a future HOFer and it would be stupid for them to not re-sign him. But I know he's gonna command a big contract. Of course, he's already making something like 8-9 million this season. It's time to retire my Tamba Hali jersey. I was thinking about getting a Berry jersey but I hate to buy a jersey and the player goes to another team. What say you, Chiefs Planet? |

Funny story - I have a Dex jersey - took the name off the back. I wear it sometimes on game day. Worked out that Peters has the number now. In fact - I kinda like it better that there is no name on the back. Just a KC jersey # 22.

If I had to put money on it, I'd say no. I don't see them wanting to spend that much money on a safety.

Numbers frighten me so I won't speak to the economics of his contract, but I cannot believe for a moment --that even the Chuefs would let Berry walk.

I expect Dorsey to offer him a very reasonable salary similar to what he makes now. I would also think Berry likes being a chief especially after they way he was looked after by Dorsey, Reid and his team mates during his cancer .
Maybe if Clark promises to replace warpaint with a cow or a goat it would win him over. |

I think very highly of Eric, but I don't think he is so good as to command that much.
5-6 mil per yr tops..

I don't think it's too far fetched to say he's the most complete safety in the game. Thomas can't tackle, Berry is better in coverage than Chancellor, Weddle is a shell of his former self... Harrison Smith has an argument. But otherwise that's it. Berry is the best of the best.. You pay him what it takes

I didn't think so before but he's been playing like a badass so I think they will. I'm hoping that the support from the team and fans gets him to give some level of hometown discount. You never know.
