Columbia is 2 hours away from the nearest major metropolitan area. Lawrence is 30 minutes.

I am honestely surprised (though I should not have been) that some folks who love CBB the most on here filed my comments away as jaded MU fan talk. People that primarily love college basketball the most should be seeing it and be more frustrated by it more than anyone. Most people I know IRL feel that way.

High school basketball sucks too. All the "good" players are just AAU ballers that got sucked into the con. There aren't any good teams, just collections of 2 or 3 AAU kids wearing the same jersey that night.

It used to be a great sport. Now, it's just a giant cluster**** where kids go for one year based on what apparel company sponsors the school. Coaches have decided to dare the officials to call 100 fouls a game knowing that they usually won't, so it's a bunch of grabbing on defense and guys barreling down the lane over and over again on offense.

The coaches with the one and done players don't have time to really install a cohesive identity, so they basically roll the ball out there and let the kids play 5 games of 1 on 1.

There are teams in Division 1 that nobody has ever even heard of that wind up playing teams of NBA players. It makes no sense.

Why? We've averaged 42,000 per the past 10 years which is close to the 45,000 FBS average last year. Mo Valley is FCS and draws 10,000. However you are free to degrade your own benchmarks for basketball.

Speaking of this, why is Baylor playing Huston-Tillotson (whatever that is) tonight? I didn't think teams typically played OOC games once the conference season starts.

I guess that would make sense if you judged the state of a program on attendance and not on performance.

So Kansas averages 7% fewer fans per game than the average football team while Mizzou draws more than twice as many fans as the average basketball team. Why would Mizzou be downgrading anything?

If ignorance is bliss, you should be a lot happier person than you seem to be.

You are terrible at math. MU draws less than the 96 teams in The power 5 conferences + 3 top mid majors. There are about 120 FBS schools so apples to apples. I don't benchmark KU to the FCS average of 8,000.

If you want to include UMKC in the hoops pool then include Mo State in football.

Did SG really compare the flagship university of the 18th most populous state to the attendance of teams like Delaware and Bethune-Cookman??
