I hate to say it, but we're careening towards a fire-sale much sooner than we anticipated.

A lot of these guys get passes with me because they ended the dark ages for us fans in '15.....but man, there is just not a lot of energy/passion out there.

Hosmer especially looks ridiculous - the weird thing is, I dont think I saw one AB for hosmer in the WBC that has been as bad as 3/4 of his ABs have been so far this season. And it wasnt like he was facing chump pitchers throwing spring-training sessions.

I guess I meant the trade deadline, while next year free agents still have value.

Royals have never had this many "big time players" to unload at the deadline. They would unload good outfielders plenty of times though through the years. Dye, Damon.

Yeah I'd say the last big time player they unloaded at the trade deadline was Beltran and that was 2004.

In 2010 they traded a bunch of guys away, Guillen, Podsednik, Ankiel. That was probably the last thing resembling a fire sale.

Interesting that if we have a 'fire sale' it means we sucked this year, and the values of the players will be lower than if we were doing great. Probably not a whole lot lower, though.

Huge ass contract they just gave Alex Gordon means he's virtually untradeable.

Moore will probably start trading guys for pitching prospects in his endless goal of having an elite pitching staff.

We are still waiting for it to happen though.
