Go to the great sand dunes. It's freaking awesome. It's like God just wanted to put a big sand box in the middle of mountains.

It’s like reminding a muslim traveling to Saudi Arabia to include Mecca on their stop. It’s pretty much implied.

Don't know about that joint - but in Loveland, there is a place called "Nordy's". I ate there the last time I was in Colorado. Pretty damned "passable" - not KC worthy...but passable |

That's not Denver, that's the suburbs. (Holding nose snobbishly high.)

You need to get up to Westminster and try G-Que BBQ. Championship BBQ, run by a guy originally from Missouri. Literally as good as any place in KC, and I've been to all of them. Trust me on this one.

If you have kids and want pizza just stop in Idaho Springs. I know when I was a kid Beau Jo's blew my mind.

Gondola coach. The difference was basically open air or closed train car with the Gondola being open air. The view was so overwhelming it was actually hard to look at. Amazing. I will never forget it.

You can take the train either way, but I recommend starting in Silverton, since at the best views you are still climbing. I am pretty sure I got a great deal on it through Groupon, and it ran through a third party service called Viator. Was super easy. |
