Nah, buffets are way down on the list. Not that I'm particularly disgusted. I just don't want to eat that much at one sitting.
Used to go to Chinese buffets once every couple months or so, but haven't been at all in years, more than anything because the best ones I'm aware of are so far away. The Old Country thing was 4-5 years ago and I haven't been since. With two exceptions, buffets are a once every 3-4 year thing nowadays. Exception 1, Ruby Tuesday Salad Bar. Still awesome, once every 6-9 months. Exception 2, House of India @ Delmar and I-170. Awesome, but a 'treat.' Once a year or so.

If you have to low-brow the buffet, Furrs is slightly more legit.

Every Christmas and Thanksgiving I eat there. It is pretty good especially on those days. The one in St. Joseph has your usual Methheads and whores, but the food is decent.

The only buffet I ever go to is the Chinese one close by. They actually have a nice selection for dinner. It's not a traditional Chinese buffet. They serve king crab, squid, prawns etc.
Not cheap for dinner. Their lunch, however.... It tends to cater to the Golden Corral crowd. |

That's no shit. I miss that joint. The cheap plastic rings, rat pack on the overhead, prime rib and t-bones.
It's been closed for what, 20 years? |

I think it was a GC, probably over 30 years ago. I saw a guy drinking straight from a Worcestershire sauce bottle. That is the last time I went.
