Honestly thought we had a good shot to lose this game. Never would have predicted this ass beat. Pretty cool. Clearly it doesn't come close to 2015 but still pretty cool to finally win one of these

I thought this would be the toughest game yet. Last time we played Puerto Rico, they made us beat ourselves. Arenado and Crawford had some flubs on defense and that's all it took for the US to lose that one. Incredible showing.

Plus, I'm guessing 100% but it wouldn't surprise me if they treat the championship game as a sort of defacto Super Bowl in the sense that if the player who stands out in that game has given you any ability to vote him tourney MVP, you will. If Stroman had gone 0-2 with a 5 era prior to tonight then no way they could give it to him. But he was mediocre enough in his first 2 combined that his A+ performance tonight pushed him to the top. Judging purely on a full body of work it's Hosmer, not debatable.
