Jordan Devey is a guy who many of us have wanted cut for 3 years now. Then, all of the sudden he plays with Mahomes and doesn’t look too bad at all.

I think it’s clear that his pocket presence—the mere threat of him getting outside the pocket—makes his linemen’s jobs much easier. Much like Rodgers. You can’t just pin your ears back or Mahomes will slide through a gap and send it 40 yards for a tuddy.

Even if we had Alex Smith back there our line would look suspect. Mahomes has a way to get rid of it quickly or recognize pressure and throw it away when everyone is covered.

In a way this is all a blessing in disguise because we get game tape on who'll be able to replace Morse when we let him walk.

So far all we've learned is Morse is very replaceable and Mahomes doesn't rely on him for setting the protections - although I think Mahomes has had that responsibility all year regardless.
