Holy ****ing shit! $226 million in Revenue Sharing does NOT equal $226 million in Net Profit.

The Chiefs earned approximately $5 million on regular season game days (ticket sales, concessions, parking, etc.), 40% which shared with the opposing team. They also earned an untold sum on merchandising, which is not shared with the entire league.

So for example, let's say their Net Income was $255 million. That's before paying rent to the Jackson County Sports Authority, their support staff, coaches, scouts, GM, concession workers, parking lot workers, travel expenses for the players, scouts, coaches and execs and the grounds crew, not to mention equipment, office supplies, utilities and other expenses.

Add in $143 million to the players (which doesn't include the cash outlay for signing, workout and roster bonuses) and you're looking at a Net of far south of $100 million.

Idiot.
When you call someone an idiot...it's best not to invent a scenario that I never mentioned.

You may be the only person that values a SS over NT or LT. Berry was the highest drafted strong safety in 25 years. There is a reason for that, its not a priority position...

Dorsey is doing the right thing....

If the Chiefs don't think that Berry is worth $12 million a year then that's fine. I have no issue with that, but Clark making millions every year and the Chiefs snubbing a small $2 million (at most) premium looks really bad.
What? You expect Clark to pay 8% out of his profit for the insurance policy for Eric berry?

Yes.
He's only missed 2 of the last 34 games and we were 11-1 when he played LT. That's value whether you admit it or not.

Clark is worth $2 billion man. If it really came down to it, $2 million is chump change to him.

You can even structure a contract to pay Berry more gauranteed $$ but place incentives that he must play ____ amount of games to receive his pay so if he misses time, we keep that $$.
This could have been proposed but was not reported.

Bottomline is the Chiefs don't feel Eric is worth $12 million, which is fine, but making him pay the $2 million premium while putting us as the beneficiary is a bad look.

I know they share ticket sales with the visiting team, but do they also have to share food and parking?

"Worth" isn't cash.

If the Chiefs are worth $1.6 billion, that leaves about $400 million in other assets, which are likely invested in real estate, the market, other businesses, etc.

The only way he realizes that $1.6 billion is if he were to sell the team, which is highly unlikely.

Right, he's just the CEO. It's owned by the family.

His share is considerably smaller.

Jesus
You know why the Chiefs are the beneficiary? Because they'd still be paying him the contract he signed.

That's ridiculous to rip the Chiefs over that. That's not bad practice by the Chiefs at all.

So you want the Chiefs to pick up that tab to allow Eric to collect more money and then pay him his salary while he's sick?

Do you realize how ****ing stupid that sounds.
