Looks like it's happening inside the city. Hoping it burns itself out before it hits the freeway.

Looks like the Getty is covered in smoke. Hope it remains safe. One of my favorite museums.

Just drove through an hour ago and the fire has not jumped the 405 freeway to the Getty side and both directions are open. As of now there appears to be no risk. The art center itself is atop a hill they keep very clear of brush at all times. Firefighters would be able to set a containment line well. I took a tour of it before the art moved in and the fire prep is really impressive with air containment for the buildings and an onsite water tank.

I could see the Ventura fires from Lake Hollywood yesterday and when I loaded the kids for school this morning, the air was filled heavily with smoke, so much so that my hair stunk all day.

I was up in Burbank today and while heading down Barham, I could see heavy smoke above the mountains. It was pretty hazy up there, too.

im sure they are prepared. Lots of comments on social media about the arts safety.

I think it's kind of like cars. People were upset when the corvette museum collapsed and those one of a kind cars were lost. Most were never going to vette museum but they just didn't like the idea of one of a kind cars being destroyed.
